Thanks to all who attended the successfull performance to the first sequel of 'Talanoa; Walk The Talk' performance which took place this afternoon at Karthoum Place!! My special thanks goes to each of the members from the E Pac Chinese Dragon Dancers and the Otahuhu & District Pipe Band both based in Auckland NZ for the magical collaborative performance!!!
I’m here to kindly inform you of the exciting FREE events I’m taking part in that are happening between 22nd till 27th April 09 in Auckland New Zealand:
Wednesday 22nd April 2009 | 6.30pm – 10.30pm | ‘Diversity Thru Public Art’ Symposium
A very special conversation between Living Room 09 artists and the public on how diversity through public art contributes to a city's creativity and to social inclusion. The evening is free, but limited to 150 people and is R18 as alcohol will be served.
Including a performance by:
The British Council’s People In Your Neighbourhood spoken word artists, who come together for a celebration of cultural diversity and self-expression, fusing music with spoken word performances and street poetry.
Supported by British Council Creative Cities project in association with Diversity Works and Momentum 09.

‘Talanoa; Walk The Talk’ by Artist Shigeyuki Kihara
In the Moana/Pacific generally and Samoa specifically the concept of 'talanoa' is translated as a process of discussion between two parties finding mutual grounds through exchange of ideas.
Inspired by her Japanese/Samoan up bringing Multimedia and Performance Artist Shigeyuki Kihara works in partnership with 4 performance groups with distinctive styles ranging from the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Pacific to come together in a intercultural dialogue – a ‘talanoa’ by staging live collaborative public performances as part of Auckland City Council’s ‘Living Room’ project staged in the parks situated in the Auckland Business District in held April 2009.
This performance is part of the ‘Living Room’ Public Art/Installation project hosted by the Auckland City Council, New Zealand.
