I have been teaching my son to read , he started to read before he was 18 months old ,hes 2 and a half now and he can read 150 words , knows the alphabet , knows all his colours by site and word, knows the planets in our solar system by site and word also ,he is gifted , he can also throw a ball in the air and kick it to me , he also can throw a ball up in the air with his right hand and bat it to me with his left hand,we just took him to putt putt golf a week ago he sunk the ball hole in one ,he counts to 30 in english and has taught himself to also count to 10 in spanish, hes also now reading kindergarden books .

Hi Debbie! Thanks for your advice - it really is very helpfull. My little man is recognising 2 words so far - we've only been at it for about 4 days & not pushing it, just taking it easy. Mainly he goes overto his blackboard & wants to start. We have some flash cards whivh I have started to use too, they are colours, alphabet, numbers - all those sorts of things & he loves them.

I have taken some of your tips & written some of Jack's favourite things on his blackboard (like ball, dog, football & his name) outside & it is actually working! Fantastic, thankyou! Whenever he goes out now he walks straight to it & goes through the words - hehe! Better go do something.
