- The sound of town - Bristol
- Me, Myself, and I
- Mark Day and Matt Ward are DAYWARD. Emanating from Bristol - England, Dayward has been gestating since early 2006. They are an eclectic melting pot of vocal and instrumental tunes, fusing influences from leftfield Drum n Bass, Hip Hop, electro pop and indie rock. They have been gigging in Bristol and Bath since early 2008, they are now part of the USURP night ‘Friday Night Release’, a monthly residential slot at a popular pub (Miner’s Arms) in the heart of the alternative boho district of Bristol - St Werburghs. Next gig - The Hatchet, Bristol - 27th February.
Pre-DAYWARD
In Brief, Matt Ward had been performing solo gigs in Bristol since July 2004 as 'THE BOOTS'. Signed on Japanese label Sunday Tuning, THE BOOTS toured Japan in 2005 and 2007, playing dates to audiences in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya, Nagano, Matsumoto and Okayama. THE BOOTS released a single and debut album 'Flavour of the month' in early 2008 on Sunday Tuning. Mark Day’s usual discipline is as a Drum n Bass producer. After DJing for years, he hooked up with the MC Nick Toots and started RINGLEADER. They were signed in 2003 to Intercom records (with EZ Rollers). The first tune 'Enough is enough' was played 14 times by Zane Lowe making it 'Tune of the week. After the band split up Mark worked on various projects, one was being THE BOOTS guitarist for the 2007 Japanese tour and the other was the birth and rise of DAYWARD from 2006-2009.
