- Saturday 5th July 2008 marked a day in the history of dance music, as Dance Island hit East Anglia. This was to be the region’s biggest electronic music event to date with five huge arenas, plus a massive outdoor stage, bringing some of the World’s best DJs and Live Dance acts.
With more than 12 months in the making and programmed through over 10 years of award winning experience, Dance Island arrived boasting some of the world’s most prestigious club brands, who delivered world class artists in their individual genre’s of dance covering across the board House, Hard Dance, Trance, Hardcore and Old Skool.
The festival featured 5 arenas hosted by BIG, Slinky, Natural Born Ravers, Raindance and Koolwaters, a VIP Arena hosted by Fierce Angel, an outdoor stage hosted by Kiss FM plus world class DJs, including Audio Bullys (Live), Axwell, Utah Saints, Stanton Warriors, Freemasons, Mauro Picotto, Agnelli & Nelson, Dave Pearce, Tidy Boys, Audio Surgery to name but a few. - General Info:

Calling all DJs - Win a set at Dance Island 2009!!
Dance Island 2009, East Anglia’s biggest dance music festival, has joined forces with Dontstayin.com to host its arena for up and coming DJ talent and is offering budding DJs the chance to win a set at the festival’s 'Nu Talent Arena'.
Dontstayin.com, the UK’s leading clubbing community social networking site, is on the search for 10 of the UK’s best up and coming DJs to win a coveted slot at this summer’s hottest dance festival. And we're not just talking about a 15 minute warm up set either. We're talking the whole hog. A 1 hour slot starting any time throughout the 15 hour event.
The lucky winners will get to feature on the same line-up as:

Pendulum DJ set and MC Jakes,
The Shapeshifters,
Utah Saints,
Plump DJs,
Altern8 Live,
BBC Radio 1’s Kutski,

All you need to do to be in with a chance of playing at Dance Island 2009 is record a 20 minute DJ mix of the tracks that best represent your style, burn it to a CD (NO LINKS) and send it to:

5th July 2008 saw a very special day in the history of dance music in East Anglia, this marked the first Dance Island festival, and now on Saturday 29th November we will be holding a reunion event at Innocence in Newmarket.
