MIss CIT
MISS CIT 2008 Wednesday the 15th of April saw the inaugural Miss Cork IT take place in Bondai Beach Cork. The event run by Afterdark.ie in conjunction with CIT Students Union saw 9 nine students from CIT taking part. After tough but light hearted grillings by MC Ivano Cafallo and after much deliberation among the judges including Miss Cork 2007 Aisling Cronin, Tamara Mc Carthy , a 20 yr old, third year Media communications student was declared Miss Cork IT 2008. Tamara said afterwards she was both surprised and delighted to have won. All the contestants admitted that there were all very nervous before the competition and especially of the questions and answers section but all the girls came through with flying colours. First and second runners up were Sinead Barry and Aoife Howard respectively. Tamara now moves forward to the national Miss University final which is taking place in Zanzibar, Dublin at the end of the month. We are all certain that Tamara will do herself and Cork IT very proud and the crowd that were in attendance last night agreed and believe that Miss CIT will become an annual event.
