This site was set up to let you all know what´s going on at the Celtic Bar & Cafe in Playa del Ingles, Gran Canaria.

For those of you who haven't visited us yet, we are situated under the Danubio Apprtments on the Calle Escorial, just opposite the Continental Hotel.

Two Months Later
It's been a few weeks of ups & downs in the bar. Carnival week saw everyone heading down to the Yumbo for nightly entertainment, which left the streets pretty quiet. A week of bad weather didn't do much for business either. But, like the troopers we are, we soldiered on until life picked up. The last couple of weeks saw the bar back on form, and a smile back on Daniel's face! We've had some great people in, including old faces returning to the bar for the craic. Dear old Frank was back with the long-suffering Jean to regale us with his karaoke talents - he's put a few new numbers into his routine too! WE know we can't just sit on our laurals though - so Daniel has decided to install some computers and set up an internet cafe in the bar. Not only that, we're offering scan & copy services, as well as Office programmmes. So now you can eat, drink and check out your Bebo profile all in one place!

SO THIS IS CHRISTMAS...
And what have we done? Well, we decked the halls, lit the tree and paartayed (see the pics) Because we have easy access, we managed to fit wheelchairs & bugges in, so everyone could enjoy the fun. From oldest to youngest, we had dancing and clapping tthrough the whole of Xmas Eve. Even Daniel managed a little jig behind the bar, as well as wowing us with his rendition of Bat Out of Hell (mind you, the till was singing a happy tune to him!). Then came the main event - Angie & the guvnor doing Paradise By the Dashboard Light.. Our fun couple Helen & Ron wore Christmas pudding and Turkey hats for the occasion, set off by false bums - wonderfully weird! We really do have the BEST customers - putting cash into the Children's charity box AND leaving Chris some generous Xmas tips. We escaped the bar just after 2am, and didn't crawl back in until Boxing Day (which doesn't exist over here). One family have managed to take up residency - 15 kids in tiotal! Mayhem!!! So now we're gearing up for New Year which, if anything is bigger over here than Xmas - with massive firework displays accross the island - get yourselves on a plane and come over for the fun!
