  • Carlisle Live 2008: Full Line Up Announced!!

Carlisle Live’s Saturday headliners, pop-sensations, Boyzone will perform their last live show of 2008 and it is sure to be an incredible experience for all. With McFly and The Hoosiers topping the bill for Sunday, Carlisle Live Festival goers are in for a weekend of the very best in pop music.

On Saturday Boyzone are joined by the stunning, classically trained quartet eScala, local singing sensation A.M.A.N.D.A who has just finished touring with the Irish heart-throbs. Plus, X-Factor finalists Hope and Cumbria’s own Britain’s Got Talent star, Andrew Johnston who brought judge Amanda Holden to tears after hearing his incredible renditions that he will perform for you at Carlisle Live.

TV’s Stephen Mulhern from Britain’s Got Talent is presenting this year’s Stobart Factor Final on Saturday. A Boyzone band member, and special guest celebrity judge the X-Factor’s Louis Walsh will join Andrew Tinkler, CEO of Stobart’s to find the winner of the most hotly contended competition to date. After four regional heats and the Boot Camp Semi Final held in Carlisle, hundreds of entrants have been whittled down to six, extremely talented, young stars who will each sing live onstage, to compete the amazing prize of £10,000 in cash and the chance to record in a top London studio, all courtesy of Andrew Tinkler, CEO of Stobart Group. The final will be a nail-bitingly tense occasion and the crowd will have the chance to choose by texting in for their favourite. Only one singer can win – who will it be?!

On Sunday with McFly and The Hoosiers there’s more amazing music from Go:Audio, Billiam and Avenue, three boy-bands who are making it big in the pop world, each bringing their own unique flavour to Carlisle Live and guaranteed to get the crowds dancing throughout the day.

The Children’s Zone is an exciting new addition to this year’s site. It has two full days of DJ’s and MC’s, with Ironik topping the bill on Sunday, riding high in the charts currently with the smash hit “Stay With Me”. He will be joined by acts including the electric DJ Dazzo, Ultrabeat, DJ Q & MC Bones and DJ Krafty over the weekend.

In the Children’s Zone and around Bitts Park many parades, workshops and games will take place for all the family to enjoy, including The Bread and Butter Theatre Company and The Barracudas Carnival Parade. A huge variety of performers to enjoy, from the Van Dunk Brothers and Berzerkas Circus welcoming people at the gates, through to the Fairly Famous Family’s hilarious Tennis Show where everyone can take part! Food and drink is also on offer across the park. To top all this off there is a funfair and fireworks at the end of each evening. Carlisle Live has something special for all the family.

Carlisle Live is a charity fund raising event. All proceeds are being donated to local charities, The Richard Rose Academy and CFM’s Cash For Kids Appeal - making this not only a fantastic weekend but also one which is raising money for two great local causes.
