They had big success in the 70's and 80's in Denmark and had their real big break through with "Rør ved mig", which was the Danish version of the Spanish ESC song "Eres Tu". Lecia & Lucienne also tried many times to take part in the local Eurovision pre-selection, but never won. As a soloist Lecia had more success in the local pre-selection for Eurovision, though she never won, but often came second or third. Later on in the 80's Lecia and Lucienne parted and Lecia found a new partner in Ivan Pedersen and founded Laban with huge success - also outside the borders of Denmark. On my YouTube channel you can see videos of both Lecia from the Eurovision pre-selection and with Laban. Here is Lecia & Lucienne with "Hvis du kommer bliver der atter solskin på min vej" - a Danish version of Dusty Springfield's "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me", which again is an English version of an Italian song called "Io che non vivo (senza te)". Here is the original Italian version written and performed by Pino Donaggio on the Sanremo Festival in 1965: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AOqOZwcwt0 It was here Dusty heard the song and decided to make an English version of it. I'm not sure which TV show the Lecia & Lucienne performance is from or which year, but it must be between 1973 and 1975, I think. This video is more aimed for the Danes here on YouTube, as I don't think there can be much interest in it internationally ;-) Thanks to Kim for the video. (more) (less)
