close About Me
- Tagline
- Hi....Im Troy McClure
- Me, Myself, and I
- In the year of 1980, a child was born. That child grew, and advanced at a slow pace, until he reached a grand old age of... 28.
At 28, after 8 years of being what could laughingly be called an IT professional, John started to refer to himself in the 3rd person, and started a life of gardening and DIY.
Now, at 29, he stands.. well sits.. before you (metaphorically cos he's really sitting in front of a keyboard) a new man. A slightly thinner man. A hairier man.
But most of all a man with a slightly dented Renault Clio, a house in East Belfast, and 2 cats. - Music
- Really smart mashups, RHCP, movie scores, easy listening, a bit of metal.
- Films
- Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Shaun of The Dead, The Boondock Saints, Saving Private Ryan, Transformers (WHAT?!)
- Sports
- I like to watch Rugby, can't understand it, but I can at least shout at the right points.
- Scared Of
- Women with excessive body hair. Spiders with excessive body hair. Flying Monkeys
- Happiest When
- Not working. Relaxing with my mates. Watching a movie.

Contains Mild Peril
We've all seen the phrase somewhere.
Most likely at the bottom of an advert for some kids movie. Helpfully advising parents everywhere could be scarred by the potential amount of peril involved.
We've also seen the adverts for say mascara with "Video enhanced eyelashes" or nappies with "Simulated Play Experience"
We've seen the "Drink Responsibly" text. Some may have even seen car adverts "Trained drivers on a closed circuit"
If you go to your DVD stash and take out a random DVD, you'll find on the back, beside the BBFC age rating, the content of the film. For example: Superman Returns - Contains moderate violence. Now you know, don't you feel better about that.
Now, are there any films you feel you should tell us the content of? Go find the oddest, or the most obvious you can.
Any adverts that may advise us not to attempt jumping a lawnmower over 16 buses? Or that may inform us that the child you saw going down a slide was merely a simulated play experience, and no actual fun was had at the time?
Now's your chance to inform the masses.7 Comments 160 days

An open letter to all my fans.
Guys, thanks for another awesome birthday.
Particular thanks to bukbuk for friday's escapade to the porterhouse, steak was win. And more thanks to Andrea, Brin, Ellie, Pete, Frank, Big G, and Steve for your aid with lifts and drinks and stuff.
I'm lying on the sofa trying to get my stomach to stay in my body.
Cheers!0 Comments 217 days

Iceland Hot Chicken Wings and Twitter
So I finally relented and started Twittering. The peer pressure was too much, first Stephen Fry, then Jonathan Ross, and finally Barak Obama.
With such high profile people, I had to join the illustrious ranks of twittering folk, and I have to say it's stupidly bloody addictive. I now follow the ramblings of famous people, a belfast taxi driver, my mate phil, and suzi. It's unusual having such a unique glimpse into the life of these people, and it's pretty good that these folks are connecting with their fans in such a way that does make them seem even more human. I suggest it for anyone who has time on their hands and likes to stalk people in their spare time.
Now, the last few days I've been feeling like shite warmed up, so last night I stayed in (Sorry Andrea) and decided to watch a movie on my new sofa and have a nice dinner and gently doze.
So with the TV on in the background I stood infront of the freezer and stared at the mass of Iceland goodness that faced me. I selected some chicken strips, spicy hotwings, onion rings, and frenchfries and preceded to cook while watching QI on iplayer.
After a while the food was ready and I settled with Run, Fatboy, Run and a litre carton of 5 alive and my dinner.
Generally I like spicy food, I'm not afraid to try anything hot, but my god, the hotwings were excruciating. Maybe it's just this cold I have, or these hotwings are the spawn of some mexican spice devil, either way my litre carton went quite quickly, and I seriously tempted to give the rest of the hotwings to charity.1 Comment 230 days
