- In Greek history and culture, some of the most important and passed on practices are that of the traditional dances. Throughout history dances of many different styles and variations have arisen from the many diverse regions and islands of Greece.
Our aim as a group is to continue building on a large repertoire of traditional dances, and to pass them on faithfully to new generations of dancers , in order to ensure that the Greek diaspora stays in touch with it's cultural roots, and that Hellenic arts are preserved for others to enjoy.
The Hellenic Dancers are a traditional Greek arts performance group, based in Glasgow. Our official website is http://www.glasgowhellenic.com. We fund the group through performing traditional Hellenic dances at everything from small functions to big cultural events and festivals, and as such are open to requests for us to perform.
