- Drumchapel United was established in 2001 and has now grown to one of the largest community football clubs in Glasgow. There are currently teams ranging from U9's to Adults, 16 teams in total. Over the last few seasons a lot of success has been brought to Drumchapel with both the Central Amateur side and Under 19 side claiming the Scottish Cup in the last 3 years. The younger age groups are developing well and a number of them have had both domestic success with league and cup wins but also brought home some trophies from foreign tournaments.
In January 2008 Former Celtic Coach and Current Rangers First team Coach, Kenny McDowall agreed to become the Ambassador for Drumchapel United. Kenny was brought up in Drumchapel and attended Kingsridge Secondary School in Drumchapel. The club are excited about working closely with a coach so highly regarded in Scottish Football.
