* In one year 1 in 4 Pacific people will be affected by mental health (25% of Pacific people and 20% for non-Pacific)
* Pacific people are less likely to access mental health services (25% compared to 58% of non-Pacific)
* It is mostly young Pacific people who are effected by mental illness
* Pacific - 16-24year olds - have the highest rates of suicide - attempts and planning around suicide
* Rates for mental illness' related to drugs and alcohol are much higher for Pacific people than average NZ population
* Pacific people use drug and alcohol help services 27% less than the NZ average
* Pacific people are most at-risk for developing problem gambling behaviour
* The Pacific peoples ethnic group is the second fastest growing ethnic group in NZ
* 6.9% of NZ's population is Pacific
