Prayer is something we all seem to do even if we dont think believe in God. Prayer is the most important thing our lives. We pray 2 : the Father (God)
through Jesus (way 2 God the Father)
in the holy spirit
WHY PRAY
Develops our relationship with God - friendship is about the time spent together. Copy Jesus - He prayed loads. He brings us joy and peace. Because it changes situations - PRAYER WORKS.

DOES GOD ANSWER ALWAYS
We can let things create a barrier between us and God
- If we are disobedient
- If we dont forgive
- if we havent told God about the things that we have done wrong
- If our motives our wrong

Remember yes/no/wait are all answers

Faith - Believing in something you can't see



Can you think of a time when you had to believe in something you couldn't see?


But how can we be sure of our faith?

What about God?
For ppl who choose to follow Jesus faith is taking God's promises and daring to believe them
The bible is full of God's Promises. Check out Matt Ch 28 v 20 or John CH 10 v 28


What about Jesus?
We thought about the idea last week that Jesus died on the cross to help us have a relationship with him. He believed in our potential.

When we mess up we can't earn God's forgiveness - it's just there

For ppl who choose to follow Jesus faith is believing in Jesus and the fact that he forgives our sins.

What about the Holy Spirit?
For some ppl faith is choosing to believe that the Holy Spirit helps them to live for God.


<B>For ppl who choose to follow Jesus they choose to:

Trust in God Promises
Trust in the fact tahat Jesus died to free us from sin
Trust that the Holy Spirit helps change us inside so we can live for God

The Problem

So, we have all done wrong. And the Bible and Jesus call this sin.

What is sin?

Christians believe that the target of life is to live a life perfectly pleasing to God. Sin is when this target is not reached. In other words we may choose to do what we want rather than what is right.

The Solution

By dying on the cross, Jesus took our place and suffered the results of our sin.
He took care of the results of sin once and for all.

Do you think that was a good solution? Why?

The Result

God has made a way for the results of our sin to be dealt with and for us to enter into a relationship with Him. If we believe that Jesus suffered on the cross for us and if we say sorry for the things that we have done wrong (our sins) we can know God.
