  • An astounding £80 million Red Nose Day total

The British public truly raised the fundraising roof for Red Nose Day 2009 - bringing the total to a spectacular £80 million so far.

We honestly can't thank you enough for your amazing support. You all ROCK!!!

The BT Red Nose Climb up Kilimanjaro alone raised over £3.4 million including £1.8 million from Radio 1 and £1 million in £5 text donations following the documentary!

410 celebrities played their part in the Red Nose Day campaign this year.

Already, Comic Relief has invested £6.3m of the money raised from Red Nose Day to help protect over one million people in Africa from malaria.

Comic Relief will spend all the money raised through Red Nose Day 09 to help extremely poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the UK and Africa turn their lives around.

  • Some quotes from Celebs from tonight's show!

Jennifer Saunders: It was such good fun to do the Mama Mia spoof. I don't want it to be our last sketch. If Comic Relief asked us to do it again, we'd be idots not too!

Catherine Tate: It was fantastic to work with Matt and David on the Little Britain sketch. I've wanted to work with them for such a long time it was so great to do it especially for Comic Relief.

  • Comic Relief: Helping Women in Africa

A lack of decent health care, poverty and deprivation cause women to die during pregnancy and childbirth every day across Africa. In fact, 57% of births in Sub-Saharan Africa take place without any help from a skilled nurse, midwife or doctor. £40 could buy a bicycle ambulance for a village. These bicycles, fitted with a stretcher trailer, can be a quick and easy way of getting a pregnant women to a health clinic in time to save her life.

For more info on this or any of issues you see on the programme tonight visit http://www.rednoseday.com
