The Jewelettes are a ten-piece Motown big band featuring, three top class female vocalists, a brass section, bass, drums & percussion, guitar and piano/keyboards. The band was formed to coincide with the celebration of Motown's 50th anniversary, which is taking place in 2009. The Jewelettes have selected 30 of the classic hit songs recorded by the ladies of Motown. Ladies such as, Diana Ross, The Supremes, The Marvelettes, The Velvetettes, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas and many more. These songs are taken mainly from the time that Berry Gordy founded the Motown label in 1959 up until he moved the organisation from Hitsville in Detroit to L.A. in 1972.

Motown Charity Night - In aid of The Jack and Jill foundation
"The Jewelettes" in association with Paul Davis and The Vaults Niteclub in Dublin are proud to announce that a Motown and Northern Soul Night in aid of the Jack & Jill foundation will be held in The Vaults Niteclub, Dublin (under Connolly station) on Saturday 18th July. The doors open at 9pm and tickets priced E10 will be available on the the night at the door. All proceeds will go to the Jack & Jill foundation. A fantastic nights entertainment will be provided with music from Motown DJ's, Honest John and Joe M and live band "The Jewelettes - Motown Big Band". So, support a good cause this summer and come along to the Vaults Niteclub, Dublin (under Connolly station) on Saturday, July 18th to what promises to be a special night of fun, music and dance.
