This group aims at bringing awareness to the general public about a worrying and disastrous trend in modern recorded music, commonly dubbed, “The Loudness Wars." This is where music is being excessively compressed or “squashed” so that a song's waveform is as loud as possible the entire way through, thus ruining the dynamics, and often causing anomalies, such as distortion and the like, to be dominant in the mix.
