- Announcing the 2009 London International Music Show
The spectacular London International Music show is back for its second year at the world class ExCeL exhibition centre, London Docklands June 11th to 14th 2009. The all encompassing music show is the biggest of its kind in the UK and incorporates four exhibitions including Drummer Live and London Guitar Show, Unplugged and Sound Recording Technology.
Featuring world class rock stars, an exhibition of the best musical instrument brands and a host of exciting seminars and activities, this is the ultimate day out for anyone interested in music. From professional to amateur, classical to heavy metal and student to teacher, over the four days, the show offers real hands-on experience to try, hear and see everything to do with making, recording and listening to music.

Now, the show is really starting to take shape now, so have a look at all the latest developments below!! There is sure to be something for everyone!!!!!
Rotosound confirm Buzzcocks and Cradle of Filth artists on their stand
A number of endorsees will be making special guest appearances on the Rotosound stand at LIMS 2009. Paul Allender and Dave Pybus of Cradle of Filth, plus Steve Diggle of The Buzzcocks will be signing posters etc at our stand H12 over the course of the show. Details as follows:
Paul Allender - Thursday 11th June - 2.00pm
Steve Diggle - Saturday 13th June - 3.00pm
Dave Pybus - Sunday 14th June - 2.00pm
In addition, guitar wizards Guthrie Govan and Alex Hutchings will be making a number of appearances, playing live at the stand, both individually, and hopefully, jamming together at some point during the proceedings - definitely one not to miss.

Sandi Thom to appear on Farida stand
Sandi will be coming to the Farida stand on thursday the 11th of June to collect her new Farida signature model electro-acoustic guitar. Above is a picture of Sandi with Sean Boothman of Urban Rock recieving her Farida M-2 guitar.
IGF present 10 greatest Riffs Seminar with John Wheatcroft
The 10 greatest guitar riffs of all time with John Wheatcroft!
Virtuoso guitarist and head of the IGF faculty John Wheatcroft, demonstrates the 10 greatest riffs of all time as chosen by the IGF. Includes the licks, effects and classic stylistic trademarks by guitarists such as Django Reinhardt, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Clapton, Wes Montgomery and Lenny Kravitz.

IGF seminar with Session Guitarist Hawi Gondwe(Amy Winehouse)
The International Guitar Foundation (IGF) presents the Session Guitarist with Hawi Gondwe.
IGF co-founder Phil Castang in conversation with one of the UK’s busiest session guitarists Hawi Gondwe.
Hawi is currently in the Amy Winehouse Band. His credits include George Michael, Lional Richie, Finley Quaye, Gnarls Barkley, Blue and Atomic Kitten.

Thousand piece band play the BiG GiG at MFY Friday 12th June
The London International Music Show (LIMS) and Music For Youth (who organise a nationwide series of festivals and concerts) can now announce the amazing BiG GiG concert, featuring up to a thousand piece band and a hundreds of young voices.
The BiG GiG will play a specially commissioned music piece written by the respected composer and workshop leader Tim Steiner. This will be a world premiere, bringing together not only thousands of musicians but combining a wide and diverse range of instruments, as all are welcome to bring along something to play. Commenting on his composition, Tim said “the Lims Anthem is one big groove, designed to use the combined forces of many players and is built on a 4 bar bass line with 4 chords and big harmony guitar riffs. The piece has been written to allow a huge range of instruments to play together from Sitar’s to Iphones right through to Djembe’s and trumpets. “
Tim will be conducting and will bring in different sections of the band to play at different times. All the parts work together so as the music unfolds, the listener hears a vast range of orchestration and parts. The finale will bring all musicians and singers together in a true massed performance to create a unique experience for everyone involved.
Music For Youth have a long history of inspiring young musicians and the BiG Gig is an unique opportunity, bringing together thousands of primary, secondary, college and university students, together with their teachers, to play the LIMS anthem.
The BiG GiG is part of the UK's greatest festival of music learning on June 12th, called MFY Friday. Thousands of students and teachers are expected to come together for a fantastic day out to find out about everything related to music. The event is part of The London International Music Show, The UK’s biggest and music exhibition running from 11th June through 14th June at ExCeL Docklands.

The biggest, most anticipated and unrivalled guitar event of the year, The London Guitar Show launches on the 11th June to seriously Blow your mind! The four day show will bring, excitement, celebrities, inspiration and transform ExCeL into the coolest hangout in London!
We can now announce a truly world class line-up of acts to entertain, inspire and wow the crowds starting with the Master Guitar Virtuoso himself, Steve Vai, who is to bring his Alien Guitar Secrets master class to the show. This is a 3 hour unique experience and once in a lifetime opportunity to hear Steve discuss music theory, guitar techniques, the music business, and most importantly, techniques on how to discover and unlock personal musical identity.
Grammy award winning and undisputed king of country picking guitarist, Albert Lee will be playing London Guitar Show. With his unique sound and style, Albert’s has worked with some of the world’s top artists from Eric Clapton to Bill Wyman.His own solo career with the Hogan’s Heroes, has seen him win countless awards and nominations.
Also confirmed is the critically acclaimed band, Swans in Flight. Their debut album launched in spring 2008 and was recorded exclusively using acoustic guitars, featuring thirteen guests ranging from JamesLoMenzo (Black Label Society/Megadeth), Kip Winger (Alice Cooper/Winger) to Phil Johnston (The Robert Plant Band). The band have already played a range of major festivals and they’ll be bringing their guitar charged rock to the London Guitar Show with special guest bass players Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake) and the King of Metal funk, TM Stevens (James Brown,The Pretenders).
Continuing the tradition of staging a wide variety of killer guitarists, Jan Akkerman will be astounding the audience with high-speed pyrotechnics and distinctive sound. He’s been top of his game for decades playing in Dutch band Focus and then going on to work with everyone from BB King to Ice-T!
Truly unmissable will be one of the world’s best players, UK guitar legend Phil Hilborne with his band featuring Iron Maiden’s Nicko McBrain. They will once again hold court on the main stage on Saturday and Sunday for an amazing concert and Steve Vai will join Phil & Nicko on stage for a couple of tracks of jamming therapy.
It doesn’t stop there as we are proud to be staging the final Guitar Idol, the world’s biggest online talent search to find the hottest undiscovered guitarists on the planet.
