- PAWSS (Pet & Animal Welfare Support Service) is an small group of people who run an animal welfare charity in Aberdeen, Scotland. We aim to give animals a second chance regardless of age and behavioural problems. We rely solely on donations from the public . We take in neglect, unwanted and abandoned pets. We also help support owners rehome their pets to new homes. We run a lost and found register which is mainly used for cats (visit the main website if you need help)
Its run by a handful of volunteers, We foster animals in our homes and don't have a centre, Though we mainly assist small animals, we also increasingly take in and help with more cats. Dogs are advertised. We work closely with other animal rescues.
We have and continue to campaign for improvements in the law, we are against puppy farming, animal testing, fur trade and more... Please support us in our efforts. visit us at www.pawss.org.uk

FURRY Needs Your Help!
Furry (nicknamed Fluffy by volunteers) is a mature (13 yrs old) cat who has had a difficult life being a sole companion to an old lady with mental health problems. Due to this she did suffer some neglect at points. We have known of Furry for 3 years when we helped foster her.
All Furry wants is love and some luxury in her time of life. She has been forced outdoors coming in at night, however, due to her weight she will need to remain indoors (she is loving it and doesn't even look to go out) for sometime as we help put weight on her. So far happy to snuggle up on my window ledge with a blanket and hot water bottle!!
She is fluffy grey and white sweet natured cat. PAWSS needs to raise money to have her blood tested by the vet. It is believed that she has an over active thyroid and is on tablets. She seems happy enough and all we want to do it check her blood count and maintain her tablets. We need your help to raise £100.00 to help towards her vet treatment. Please help us to give Furry a second chance.

Sooty and Gypsey
These two dogs still need a special home
Sooty and Gypsy are continuously overlooked and have been in foster care with The Blue Cross since March. We don’t understand why as they are such a lovely pair! Unfortunately their owner died and now we are looking for a home willing to take both Sooty and Gypsy as they are very attached to each other, having lived together all their lives.
Gypsy (Shetland Sheepdog) is the more outgoing of the two but Sooty (Collie X) is more affectionate. They currently live with other dogs, cats and poultry and has been fine with them all.
Sooty and Gypsy can be left for 5+ hours. We would like them to go to an adult home or a home with children over the age of 12 years old as we feel Sooty could become overly friendly and boisterous if unduly excited by young children.
Both are very affectionate and active dogs who loves getting attention. They love their walks, travelling in the car and playing with toys.
Sooty & Gypsy are in The Blue Cross Foster Scheme in Scotland and are being fostered in the Highlands. If interested, please telephone 0300 456 8500.0 Comments 79 days

Pleased to hear all the gerbils rehoused
by
Suzanne Mennie
Much as the shop owner and a couple of shop volunteers wish to hold personal issue with one our volunteers over the move to call in the ACC regards Welfare of Gerbils in the shop a few months back. PAWSS are genuinely pleased to hear that our last appeal and rather unfortunate route has worked and the gerbils are now in loving homes. We continue to give out and recommend Reptiles in the green for sales and products and rescue advice on reptiles.0 Replys 12 weeks
We take welfare of animals on sale in all pets shops seriously and do our best to help- taking further action is our last resort and thankfully this is only the second time in 10 years we have done so.

We-BUNNY HUGGERS- are re-running the appeal from the last newsletter – please write to the Glasgow Council opposing plans for the new zoo!0 Replys 14 weeks
There are plans for a new £35 million animal park on the banks of the Clyde in Glasgow's East End. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (and all other Zoological societies in the world) breed and keep animals in the name of education, wildlife research and conservation - but watching a panda outside its natural habitat is not educational, and any the chances of any animal being bred in captivity ever being released back in the wild - are virtually impossible. Here's more info on what's wrong with zoos. http://www.alv.org.au/issues/whatswr...
Help stop this £35m prison from going ahead. Write to the Glasgow and Lanarkshire Council (with your full address and postcode) Emails to pach.exec@southlanarkshire.gov.uk,

hi there,
i am interested in rehoming a cat/kitten, i have a young female and think she would like some company, i would be interested to know what your thought about wether they need a companion or not. i think it would have to be a kitten so she would be in charge, again any thoughts on this would be good.
thanks
