I'm running an anti-suicide campaign to create and promote support services for teenagers. I want to promote awareness of the issues surrounding suicide and create a better support system within schools.
I feel that the media coverage surrounding recent teen suicides was shameful, and from experience I know that the support system in place is inadequate. When someone at my school committed suicide no-one knew how to deal with it.
Suicide is one of the most common causes of death among male teenagers, and it is shocking that we as a country have afforded little attention to the issue.
Instead of blaming social networking sites and bands for teenage suicide I want to involve bands to help reach out to young people. Society needs to become less ignorant of teenage depression.

Friday..
Hello All!
Just a little blog to say thank you to a member of the Battlfront team who is leaving today. Caroline, who has acted as producer, camerawoman, runner, researcher and blog order-er is unfortunately leaving the project today so I just wanted to say a huge thank you to her for all the work she has done with us all! Whilst I am on the subject I am actually going to thank all of the staff who have worked on the project: Caroline, Danny, Jo, Kelly, Rob, Orsi, Cyrus, Airlock and everyone else who I have forgotten, without their help none of the campaigns would be where they are today, they are an awesome group of people and best of all they are great at getting stuff done!

Another brick in the wall...
Good Morning
I am excited to tell you about a new idea we have for the campaign. We want to create a wall of rememebrance for everyone who takes their life each year. The idea is thast we will invite members of the public to put messages to those suffering from depression on a wall in a public place. We will carry on getting these messages until we have just under 6,000. The number of people who take their own lives in the UK each year. We will then leave the wall in a public place to really highlught the issue and the sheer number of people it affects.
Any feedback?

- Yes
- No
- In some ways

I think what you're campaigning for is worthwhile and will help a vast majourity of teenagers suffering with extreem emotions and problems they themsleves can't deal with. It's nice to know that there are people like you self willing to give up their time for something that will hopefully benefit teens with depression. I have bi-polar disorder and i've been so overwelmed at times and it was hard when i ended up in hostpital they didn't know what to do with an attempted suicide and went behind my back to phone social services. They didn't do anything and i still have those problems there.
good luck with your campaign i think its amazing what your doing (:

hey, thanks for the add
Hey, thanks for the add.
I'm so glad that your doing this, it needs to be done. I'm glad someone can reach out to the many teen suicidal cases which are now sadly increasing.
As you have said, many people do believe it is caused by social networking sites, and in many cases that is not profoundly the case.
I myself have set up an organisation in my school if anybody wants to talk. (Not that its getting very far) So i am very glady willing to help you if you need any support or, just a hand.
Eagerly waiting your reply,
Much respect.

Pity they were so hesitant to open up, though it is a very influential and touching subject.
Good luck on your next campaign strategy =3

Teenage Suicide Is A Big Issue Becuase Many Teenager's Have Sadly Taken There Own Live's And Its Just Said That Nobody Picked Up On It Before They Done It If You Get What I Mean
Im An Exself harmer And I Used To Think About Suicide A Few Times
And I Reaslied That Insead Of Doing It I Could Find Some People To Talk To
Unfroutally Many Teenager's Cant Be Strong And Just Do It=//
But Hopefully Your Compaign Will Help

I 'm proud to know we've got so many people interested in helping such a cause.
The majority of teenagers in this generation are affected by some form of teen suicide and the support can often be weak. I spend a lot of time helping my friends through their issues with school and other such pressures that can eventually lead to someone cracking.
I saw the short clip of your advert on today's Battlefront, with the Coffee Cup campaign etc. It was very inspiring and I'm definately going to stay in tune and check up to see how things are going. We're all rooting for ya.
Thanks for the add...
Hope the campaigning is going well

Heya. James here
Hope your well.
Just reading through your blogs and I got some thoughts.
What you are planning on doing is a great idea, but to get the best results I really think you need to persuade Channel 4 (raw tv) to take you around the country to get different views.
I can understand why you might want to make your cause a registered charity, but why do you want money? Would this be to get your message out to the public? Like adverts, website design and stuff?
When I was in year 8 (now in 11) there was a school counsiler who you could talk to about depression, drugs, problems etc. She was hired by Connexions. I spoke to her about a bullying problem I had which was great but the thing is, If I wanted to talk to her about being suicidal, she HAS to tell someone. There is no confidence for teenagers, like, If I told a professional counsiller I was suicidal, they would get the police to watch me, its insane, however atleaset its something. This year, they got rid of her!
