About Me

Tagline: "the best ever people" says jessica
Me, Myself, and I: Hi there this is Blackbird Leys youth club and this is our page. We are open 5 days a week (mon, wed, thur, fri, sat) and are open for people ages 13-19.

We are run by Oxfordshire county council, and we do loads of different activities and sessions, which you can read about in our blogs. Our blog will be updated once a week letting you know what we've been upto and any new developments.

We have lots of cool equipment, including a pool table, wide screen tv, ping pong table, PS2, CD player, gym and IC T suite. For a 50p fee we provide free food and drinks, and a place to go for a few hours each day. Some of the sessions have age limits, for details of which have a look at our blogs.

Music: We've got a lot of CDs, and there's usually music playing. If there's any music you like feel free to suggest it, currently we have an R'n'B slant and we aldo have an inhouse DJ, Dayne, who plays on friday nights.
Films: We've got a lot of DVDs, and PS2 games (mainly racing) and can watch them on our nang tv
Sports: In the gym there are basketball hoops, we alsao play football a lot, but the boxing club use the gym at the weekend so we can't.
GILLIAN THE LEGEND!!: Gillian the amazing walking talking legend, and is something like a saint for putting up with us!
Happiest When: there are lots of young people!

We also want your ideas. If you have a good idea for a club or events, or if you can offer help of any kind, we want to hear from you. You can also join the Young Person Forum and have a say in what we do, what events and projects we fund in the area and Centre, and more.

Black history month

October 2009-This will include a whole day celebration, a visit to the Imperial War Museum in London, african music and poetry celebration and more contact the centre for details and to find out more.
