The Culture Factory group was born of the frustration and anger at the lack of facilities for the young people of Newbridge and it was quickly agreed that that something must be done to tackle the chronic shortage of services. We aim to provide a suitable space that will promote the creative collaboration between artists & young people, many of who, are excluded from what is traditionally regarded as the ‘arts sector’.

This space will be open to all young persons regardless of race, religion, sex etc. Ideally, it will be situated in the Oscar Cinema. This old building is up for sale, although other buildings may also fit the bill.

In this building we will provide facilities for: Live music, rehearsals, recording studio,
dance, film making, playing pool, artistic teaching zones, cafe, and meetings.

    • Christy Moore to play Ryston Gig for Culture Factory

      Hiya Folks

      It's finally here, as mentioned previously but now we have rock solid info for ya's all.

      Legendary musician Christy Moore has just announced he is to perform in the Ryston Centre, Newbridge on January 15th 2010 with the proceeds going to Culture Factory. Christy is no stranger to Culture Factory having invited them to usher his Ryston gig earlier this year, he performed in the intimate setting of The Liffey Studios in which Culture Factory organised and of course his declaration of support for the group and its objectives.

      We are honoured to be involved with Christy, who after all is one of the greatest musicians Ireland has produced and we would like to thank Christy and his team for doing this gig and all their help, it’s going to be a really great night!

      Support on the night comes from the superb local talents of Band on an Island, Aoife Kelly & Ian Kinsella, tickets are €35 and will go on sale on Wednesday 25th November and are available from Top Twenty.

      PS - They would make great Christmas presents :)

    • Newbridge set to invade Dublin's Academy Tomorrow night (Friday13th Lucky for us)

      Hiya all

      Just a reminder that Super Extra Bonus Party will be playing The Academy in Dublin tomorrow night, with fellow Newbridge acts Band on an Island, djs istandconnected and Buck Teeth. Its an 8 - 2pm marathon night of music for only €17.50 with Heathers, Bats and Le Galaxie also playing. The night will see many of the collaborators from the amazing 'Night Horses' take to the stage with SEBP so we can expect an explosive performance as usual.
