Welcome to the bebo entry for the Third Carrick Band.

Situated in the coastal town of Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland, near the entrance to Belfast Lough, 2008 sees the Third Carrick Silver Band celebrate 50 years of music making.

Over the last 50 years the band has competed in many contests resulting in an impressive number of wins and has entertained many thousands of people who have attended the concerts given by the band particularly throughout the summer and Christmas periods.

In April 2005, the band was given the opportunity and privilege of competing in the European Brass Band Championships which was held in Groningen, Holland and has also played throughout the UK and Ireland. The band are currently one of the busiest and most entertaining bands in Northern Ireland playing a wide selection of music covering many genres.

  • New Band CD "On the Castle Green" now released

    It is with great pleasure that The Third Carrickfergus Band announce the launch of their debut CD recording entitled "On the Castle Green"

    The CD features 18 tracks from various genres of music including jazz and blues, religious, swing, classical and the world's first recording of the CDs title track, the new signature march which was commissioned in celebration of it's Golden Jubilee celebrations and was composed by the extremely talented Paul Lovatt-Cooper.

    The CD is priced at £10.00 plus £1.50 postage and packing and can be purchased using our secure on-line shop. Payments can be made using most major credit cards, switch cards or your PayPal account. Go to www.thirdcarrickband.co.uk/sales.php

  • NIBA Championship of Ireland Contest

    Big congratulations to both junior and senior band on their performances on Saturday 31st October in Armagh.

    Thanks also to Desy on his interpretation of Resurgam which resulted in a second place.

    Our congratulations also go to Drogheda Brass on their win and thanks also to all the competing bands without whom there would be no competition.

  • Band to Record New CD

    The band will be heading to the studios to record their new CD over the next couple of weeks. The resulting CD will feature a wide selection of music to suit all tastes and will include the band's signature march "On The Castle Green."

    The CD should be available at the beginning of August. More details of how to order a copy will be available soon.

      Thanks for the add whoever is responsible. Some good memories from playing with the band. Just browsing through the pics there and I actually managed to find one with me in it. Its the picture of the church service in the album 'band pictures' , I'm the Eb Bass player in between roy and al. lol.
