gabrielle: best friend and soulmate of xena. she is from the small town of potadia and has one younger sister (lila). gabrielle was first introduced into the world of war when she was given the amazon right of cast. she then later became queen of the amazons several times. through the middle of the series gabrielle gives birth to the evil child of dahak, hope , who is later killed. after meeting eli the messanger of peace gabrielle decides to give up her warior ways and follow the way of love but later on in the season she kills many romans to protect xena. after being crucified and then ressurected gabrielle trades in her staff for a pair of sais. she then resumes her new warrior ways until the death of xena in season 6.
