  • One day I decided to quit...

    One day I decided to quit...

    I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...
    I wanted to quit my life.

    I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

    "God", I asked, "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"

    His answer surprised me...
    "Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

    "Yes", I replied.

    "When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
    I gave them light.
    I gave them water.

    The fern quickly grew from the earth.
    Its brilliant green covered the floor.

    Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
    In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
    And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.

    "In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
    But I would not quit.

    In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would
    not quit." He said.

    "Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...

    But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

    It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.

    I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."

    He asked me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots".

    "I would not quit on the bamboo.

    I will never quit on you."
    "Don't compare yourself to others."

    He said.
    "The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.

    Yet they both make the forest beautiful."

    "Your time will come", God said to me.

    "You will rise high"

    "How high should I rise?"
    I asked.

    "How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.

    "As high as it can?" I questioned.

    "Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

    I left the forest and brought back this story.

    I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

    Im so totaly awsome now i got my restricted:D ,Yup im growing up alright im going to be 17 this yea WOW i know.Yea i went out with my friends on tuesday night and i was out late on wed cause i had a dance show at school and i was out late on thur cause i had dancing again!Im just living it up:D
    Man i wish i could come to london it sounds like your having sooooo much fun over there and then i can see the latest fashion and check out the new technology!
    Dancing is going great,Im advanced next year for Jazz YAY.Lol no Mum and i arnt doing pilates anymore,I think that was just a oncer for mum,And i was to flexable for that class lol.
    Yup mum reads your emails and prints them out for Dad and Wayne to read and sometimes my Nan reads them.

    Well the Fam and I are of to the beach with G-Sue and Poppa now.

    Yup we are now back from the South!!!!
    WOW it was an awesome so would do it again!!!
    O and when we were at Hanmer Springs we saw your Mummy and Daddy they where going on the motorbike thing with a BIG group, Did you hear bout that!!!!

    Were there lots of people on New Years eve?
    When we were down south there were HEAPS so we had to find somewhere quiet, RATHER hard!!

    Thats nice that it is cold....Any snow?????If so "IM COMING OVER"!

    Gash long time since i have been on Bebo!!
    I have been doing lots of study for NCEA exams!!!I have done my Science one next is Maths then Dance the science one was ok im sure i will pass the three out of five papers i did (i did Physics,Biology and Astronomy and i didnt do Chemistry or Geology)
    Yup my driving is getting better i know what do do its just practice practice practice really!!Yup i wll be doing the defensive driving course then i will get my full sooner then ill be able to take my friends on road trips!!O yea man its fun going fast and since i have a nice little car i feel as if i can control it easyer then mums so i feel safer,so thats good!!!
    Yea my Dance concert is in 3 weeks so im totaly excited!!No we arnt doing pilates anymore mum found it to hard!!
    Yea i would be missing everyone to and even though i dont see you all the time i still miss you :)
    You surely will be having a great time i would be,i spos doing new things is always the best!

    My little red car is going just fine!!!!Yea i know how to drive the manual now but its just hill starts and lights and stuff like that i need to get a lil better at!!!!!But i can drive home from my mates house down the end of Pukehangi so i must be ok!!I drive on the road and on the farm mostly the farm with my mates and we like to speed!!!!!SHHHH

    School is ok NCEA is coming up so STUDY STUDY STUDY yay so much fun!!Dancing is fun as we have done our exams so now its consert work so its going to be realy fun!!!
