Bord Snip Report
Guys, for those of you who have not read it, I have posted a link to the "Bord Snip" report. The section which applies to us is section 3.6 and to summarise it the group suggests a reduction in the allocation of the student support grant by 70 million euro and at the end of the report the group recommends the re-introduction of third level fees. it is very clear and easy to read so i recommend everyone to have a look at it is important that we all understand the devastating effect this will have on third students around the country if it is implemented.

Ciara Leena Joesephina
Hey if any NUIM students (or people who live in the Maynooth/Celbridge area generally) would be interested in volunteering to help run a Youth Cafe in Celbridge, I'd like to hear from you. I'm a second year student here, and you can contact me at ciara.galvin(at)nuim.ie or ciaraleena(at)hotmail.com
Volunteering will involve a small amount of training probably starting in March (on saturdays, which unfortunately will rule out many commuters) and then volunteers will help run (and hopefully have fun themselves in) the youth cafe itself. Depending on the number of volunteers it'll only be every second or third Friday.
We're having a meeting in Celbridge in about two weeks time (23rd or 24th of February) to talk more about it, and if it doesn't sound like something you'd be interested in after all we won't pressure you to stay.
So, if you're interested, or if you know people you think might be interested email me! -

Day of Action Against Student Fees
Join Students from all across the country in one of the biggest mass protests Ireland has ever seen.
On Wednesday 4th February 2009 thousands of students from across the country will take to the streets of Dublin to protest against the proposed re-introduction of third level fees.

D40 weeks agoNO TO FEES-ALL OUT FEBRUARY 4th!
why?
*. €5000 fees will hit you and your family where it hurts, in this current climate
*. The 1,500 Euro registration fee!
*. the attack on our education system – The government want bigger classes with less resources. Fees and cutbacks are the start of a massive assault by the government that will destroy our education system
*.Only a very big mobilisation can knock the government back
*. The demonstration on 4 February has to be the start in building a mass movement of students on every campus across the country that can defeat the government on fees and education cuts.
1:30PM, DUBLIN CITY CENTRE,FEB4.
BE OUT!
