The Andrews sisters meet the Sugababes
The Swingettes have been attracting some attention around Limerick this week. They were guests on SpinTalk weekend with Michelle McMahon on Spin for a couple of songs and a philisophical discussion about harmony junkies, Christina Aguilera, seamed stockings and red lipstick. In an effort to sum up their sound Fiona (in a moment of inspiration) described The Swingettes as 'the Andrews sisters meet the Sugababes.'
Thursday night saw the ladies hitting the Belltable's current venue at Red Cross Hall for a set at the their Acoustic night. Performing without mics and armed with a bunch of their favourite songs The Swingettes charmed the somewhat taken-aback audience! They sizzled through an alto led 'Fever', recruited finger clicks from the audience for 'Taint what ya do' and as always sang a show-stopping 'Let's do it'.
Also performing were Emma Small, Dave Irwin and Vertigo Smith (who claimed if he'd known The Swingettes were coming he would have spruced up his look...the ladies thought he looked just fine!)

Busy little Swingettes
The Swingettes kicked Christmas off in style singing a couple of their favourites at a Finola Ó Siochrú's Christmas benefit night in Kinvara. In true Swingette style the lovely ladies also helped out local artist Jack Harrison during his set adding some delicious harmonies and some fabulous red lipstick!
After a hectic but musical Christmas where did the Swingettes end up? Why Adare Manor of course - only the best for our girls. The ladies sang a loved-up, super romantic set at the wedding of Chris Genin and Niamh Sheehy. Congratulations Mr and Mrs G.
Watch (and listen!) out for the Swingettes in Limerick this month - bringing some swing and jazz to a Belltable acoustic night near you.
