At the moment the gay scene in galway is all over the place with all the changes in p.r companies and club promoters....
If you are in town for the weekend, head to the stagedoor bar for a few then you can follow the crowd and head to Birdcage or heaven on their alternative nites.
Galway gay scene will improve, lets face it it has to underwise it will go down big time.
The gay promoters are great at working towards keeping the club scene alife and yes we need a club for meeting people and to keep the young people happy etc.......

This is Dj Vinny & Ive been dj'ing now for 7 years, initially standing in for a friend in Stranos back in the day's of "the Mammies". I used to watch the dj & learn, then 1 night I got my chance & fell in love with it straight away & loved the buzz. Having secured a regular gig in the bar this led to gigs in Liquid night club, Tribes & Stage Door. In the club's I like to play to everyones taste be it RnB, Dance, Pop, Chart & Retro. I am heavily influenced by Old School, American Freestyle from the late 80's, Anthem Rock, Swing RnB, Mash Up & Cheesy Pop coz im a savoury kinda guy. I will always play Whitney "I wanna dance with somebody". To me it's the greatest pop song ever produced and defies anybody to stand still. It's also a good omen for my sets & I play it for good luck. I have no shame at all so if I have it ill play it. Though I dont do club land, Trance or House misic. I leave that to the professionals & I dont play the same song twice.

Welcome back ladies. Another year another gladiator style battle begins. Unpack you're rainbow waistcoats, unfurl that gay flag and take your ringside seat, dip that hand into that popcorn and ready yourself for another eight months of drama, high antics, fierce competitions but mainly hot chicks, willing to show themselves for the sake of winning.
Miss Gay UK is back with a vengeance, this time teaming up with Ireland as well. Oh I am partial to an Irish Lassie who can bake! I fondly remember the lovely Leah from last year....Be still my beating heart!
Heat one is again at The Fox in Birmingham, I will never forget The Fox, I had a drink in there on Miss Gay UK finals night that was akin to Windowlene, did the trick though, I found myself at 4am eating a dodgy horse burger outside the nightclub, and promptly vomiting it up in some grim back alley that smelt suspiciously of human poop!! Gotta love the authenticity of Birmingham.
So, what will this year bring I wonder? What talents will be brought to the table from the next batch of fresh eyed keen women all longing for world peace and a better life for all the children in Africa?
If I remember correctly last year's talents included being able to drink wine from a bottle nestled into the cleavage, break-dancing, body popping, singing and my personal favourite being able to put an entire Victoria sponge in you re mouth whilst reciting the Dylan Thomas poem "do not go gentle into that good night" God lesbians are a talented breed.
So if you want to witness this amazing journey to the final of Miss Gay UK, then stick with me,. as I will be interviewing all the girls who win the heats, and adding my own commentary to the proceedings. Tell all you're friends, and you're friends,friends.

Paul Newhouse has grown to become an international DJ in a relatively short time span. His interest in the DJ world began when he moved from his hometown of Dublin to live in Germany at the early age of 17. Paul was blown away by their underground dance scene and spent many hours studying DJ's such as Paul Van Dyk, Roland, Tanith and Moby. The two-year experience in Germany led him to purchase his first set of decks in 1993 at the age of 21. In 1995 Paul secured his first ever gig at "The Asylum" in Dublin after previously just playing at private parties. Playing at "The Asylum" for approximately 6 months before progressing to Radio where he secured a spot on Kiss FM in 1997. By 1998 Paul was playing a regular two slots a week for a show called "The Classic Collection" and "The Sunday Session", both on Kiss FM.
During this time Paul progressed his knowledge in other areas also and worked part-time for an Irish Dance Magazine called "Uproar" where he published photographs and wrote articles about the current dance scene. Also developing his knowledge in music production and attended a Dance Music Business Program, and just recently getting his Advanced Diploma in Music Tech., which has provided him with the all round experience and skills required to play at international level. In 2001 Paul contacted Pulseradio.net, (voted no.1 internet radio station 2000), and shortly afterwards, he started his own show. He also became station rep. for the UK/Ireland, posting record reviews/interviews and music articles. This position went on for 2 years, and then Paul took a break to concentrate on his home studio, where he is constantly improving his recording skills.

Hi everone Eamon here just to tell you the official Brod Ireland meeting was held yesterday (Friday 17th April) at
Arus na gael and that the outgoing chair person was thanked for her well organised Pride last year
We would like to inform all the Gay community that Paul Whelan Has no longer any role to play in any commitee associated with Brod Ireland or Galway .And that Garda Liaison Officer has been informed he is also BARRED from both gay venues in the city
If you have any ideas to help us improve Pride this year and make it a festival to remember message me or anyone of the new commitee as there is strength in unity
