Princess ATAK aka. Katerina Pihera of Rotorua, Aotearoa-New Zealand is an aspiring soul and hip-hop, reggae influenced MC, singer and composer of her own songs. Princess ATAK represents a NZ Māori feel and flow which often incorporates indigenous messages of struggles and success. Originally singing in a local hip-hop crew she has performed alongside local NZ artists and international performers. Also a performer of kapa haka; Māori performing arts she has recently returned from a USA cultural exchange with Native American peoples as part of the Amokura kapa haka group and at times appearing solo as Princess ATAK. A descendant of Te Arawa and Ngā Puhi tribes and also the Czech Republic, she looks forward to the new year when she plans to perform gigs locally, nationally and Internationally.

Princess ATAK updateZ
Well, theres actually alot to update on... Ive been travelling... meeting people from around the world.. sharing the culture and my music.. I feel blessed. I feel blessed even though there is struggle in the world and many injustices.. and that sometimes you are faced head on with tragic events as I have. But we have to gain or regain our strength, and courage and wisdom as it has been said before.. so we can truely know we have experienced and overcome and achieved. Something like that... And although things dont happen overnight... they can happen if you let it be. I been to Welly for the hip hop segment of Pao Pao Pao, that was kool to see the HTown crew and Wellys still representing harti...

Friday 4th - awesome day... performed on the free Jamming stage, good turn out and sold a few CDs so that was kool! family and friends around... had fun 2!
Saturday 5th - performed again on the Jamming stage, couple more CDs sold...
Interviewed for Te Karere - TV1 Maori news (aired on the 7th Jan)
Performed the Sulpha Real Anthem on the Hip hop stage alongside Rule N Reign and Kingdom
so overall was a good event heapsa drumming, singing, dancing, stalls and kai...
Highlights... selling some of my first demo CDs!!
Blue King Brown, Katchafire, Batucada, and ma girl Ladi6 who i got to chill wid while she kicked it in Rotovegas...
Jambalaya was kool... I was a volunteer so hada bit of interaction with those cruizin around the event, chilled out and watched artists do their thang...participated in workshops and ... yeh... performed...
