World Vision 40 Hour Famine
Me, Myself, and I
It’s time again for the World Vision 40 Hour Famine and this year, we’re “Raising the Stakes”.
The Global Food Crisis means the stakes are even higher for millions of children living in the developing world. They are hungry, malnourished and struggling to survive.

But, there is hope! With your support, we can help these children realise their dreams and reach their full potential by providing nutritious food, healthcare and education. We will also direct funds to many other World Vision projects in developing nations.
It’s simple. All you need to do is register for the 40 Hour Famine at famine.org.nz and then get creative, going all out to "Raise the Stakes" in 2009.
So what are you gonna do?

How about the classic “No Food” Famine? Or a 40-hour running relay with your mates? Or no texting for 40 hours?

When you’ve got your challenge sorted, add us as a friend and let your mates know. Challenge them to “Raise the Stakes” and do even better.

  • Your Famine funds making a difference right now!

Thank you for supporting the 40 Hour Famine - your Famine funds are helping right now! Presently some Famine funds are being used to feed 200,000 people who are still homeless and living in evacuation centres, like this one in a sports stadium in Manila, Philippines - see photo below.

Way to go Pia, Mm and Hannah! You guys are stars!

Did you know that just ten bucks can help an Indian child who is vulnerable to child labour enrol in school? Multiply that by the amount of funds you've raised, and you can see what a massive impact your funds will have.

If you haven't yet got your $$ in to your teacher organisers, make sure you do that ASAP, cos the sooner we get it, the sooner we can get it to those who so desperately need it.

    Scary washing machine.

So it sold for over $5k. Not bad.

But I know some of your schools are going to have raised even more than that, and you didn't even have the help of a diploducus. (I wish you did though. They are pretty much my favourite animal).

But... we've only got 2 weeks til banking cut-off for scholarships!

So keep up the fabulous work you are doing collecting sponsor books in, and get those funds to the bank! Cos that deadline is gonna come around faster than you can say plesiosaur.

Muhammad Yunus dreams that one day our grandchildren will only be able to see poverty in a museum.

Let's go hard with collecting our funds in and help make that a reality!
