Under 21's
Tollcross Thistle Football Under 21’s – Trials Available
The team will consist of experienced players who are playing under 21’s at the moment and players coming up from under 19’s. The management team in place are experienced in playing and qualified in coaching with the SFA.
At Tollcross we already have the Amateur team in place so when you are too old to play Under 21 football you will have somewhere to go.

Tollcross 4-1 East Linton
First half started well for Tollcross, with early pressure, The first goal came when Ross Henderson whiped in a freekick to find Steven Moncur who headed across goal to find the bottom right corner 1-0, Tollcross felt like there were going to walk this game when Gary Fox got himself into the box and with a nice little touch he went past the defender only to be brought down , Steven Moncur stepped up and a good penalty was saved well down to the keepers right.
East Linton got themself back into the game when a mix up in defence lead to a bit of a scramble at the back post and the ball crept over the line to make it 1-1, The game started to get scrappy and i think both sides were happy to see the half time whiste needless to say the half ended with Tollcross the better of the two sides.
Second half started well for Tollcross and they looked much more up for it than East Linton, with a decent ball over the top from Stephen (Quagmire Quan) Callaghan, Steven Moncur raced through on goal and was brought down inside the box for the second penalty.
Ross Henderson stepped up and calmly slotted the ball bottom right sending the keeper the wrong way 2-1, East Linton looked as if they had gave up when Steven Moncur picked up the ball inside East Lintons half and turned inside to fire home a stunning strike from 25 yards into the top left corner 3-1.
The game had slowed down and Tollcross were passing and moving very well, with some good work on the left from Robbie (Robert) Menzies. The East Linton keeper miss hit his by kick and the ball fell to Jonny Turley who ran through and poked the ball with his left foot into the bottom right 4-1.
Chance after chance for Tollcross were going a begging but still they looked solid in defence and were under no pressure, good battling in the center from John Nisbet lead to him playing a cheeky wee one two with the ref and blasted his shot off the post from 25 yards, Tollcross were dominating and nice movement and passing lead to a corner on the left, Robbie Menzies whipped in a great ball which was met by Alan Budge who was unlucky to see his header rise over the bar. Tollcross were denied a 5th goal when Gary Fox raced through on goal, his first shot was saved well by the keeper but his follow up effort found the back off the net, only for the referee who it has to be said didnt have a good game blew for offside
The final Whistle blew and Tollcross progress into the semi finals with a good 4-1 win0 Comments 602 days

Tollcross Thistle will be holding a trial match on the 7th May 2008 and also inviting players along to pre season training which will commence in June.
This season we have a range of players aged between 19 to 28 with experience at a high level of football.
We train twice a week Monday & Thursday @ George Watsons with games on Saturday's.
We are sponsored by The International Bar in Tollcross which we visit after the game every saturday for food and a fruit juice ;-) and If you become a Tollcross player you will receive a Training Jacket, jumper and holdall.
