Too often the news talks about how young people are underachieving and causing problems, but we know they are a minority. Use your voice and take action to CHANGEit! Through the awards, we aim to recognise young people for their achievements and ambitions and spread the word that young people can and ARE making a difference!

CHANGEit is getting ready to launch!

As of 1 October 2008, CHANGEit will begin accepting nominations for the 2008/09 award year. This year we'll award prizes in the Innovation category, Performance category and a new photo contest category getting young people's photos of campaigning in action.

Are you a young person with an idea for a campaign? Do you know someone aged 11-18 who is making a difference? Are you savvy with a camera?

We're in the process of creating change!

The finalists for the 2008 CHANGEit Awards are almost selected. The CHANGEit team have been travelling all over the UK meeting up with remarkable young people to learn more about their ideas and the ways they've already made a difference where they live. It's been inspiring and there is no doubt the judges have a difficult decision ahead of them. Stick with us as we announce the finalists at the beginning of March. And if you just learned about the awards, not to worry, we'll be back in September to get your ideas and celebrate your accomplishments!

What makes you angry?

The first step in any campaign is to ask yourself what makes you angry. What frustrates you? What needs to be changed but no one ever does anything? What is a big problem? Or even...what is a cause that excites you? These are the things we want to know about. When you know what makes you angry, you know what you want to change. From there, it's just a matter of researching, getting support and taking action.
