Chapter 1- Starting over... again
"It's a new day at a new school, Scarlet, you can start your "life" over again." my mother told me as I grouchily stalked down the stairs after my horrible night. The images still left over from my last school are still haunting me. The horrible faces looking at me like I'm some freak, when I'm not! 
"Scarlet, grab your bag and get to school because you have to walk today," my mom shouted to me when I sat down to watch some TV.
"I don't even know where the stupid school is, mom, you can at least drive me today!" I shouted back to her annoyed because she did the same thing last year and the year before and probably the year before if I remember that far back in my long life. She's actually been doing the same things over and over again for the past couple of years. I think she found her rut, like all of us will eventually find, except me. That's my plan, to never find myself caught in a rut or a ditch or a cycle or whatever we should call it. I'm going to break the tradition of being stuck in a rut because it's useless. 
"Fine I'll take you to school." my mom said. I could almost guess exactly what she was going to say. Last year she said, "Go get in the car then." I can't believe she's stuck as a mom like this for the rest of her life.

As my mom was driving me to school I was noticing some signs of, of well, you know, I just hope there aren't too many here. I really want to have some vacation time this year. Last year's vacation I didn't even get to have because I WAS WORKING. I was really looking forward to it, oh well. Also on the way there I saw some girls, about my age, looking at me like they were about to point at me and start laughing. They each had blonde hair and they were just looking at me. One of them waved and smiled while the other one just kept walking. They must have knew I was a new student because of my backpack. My mom saw them take a left so she took a left and there was the school.
    It looked so old. The outside had doors held open that said, "Welcome Freshmen," and they had long white stairs that looked like they belonged to an old town hall. There weren't many windows. It was built out of crumbly red bricks. If I didn't see those two girls walk in here I would think it was just some old building. The parking lot was even worse. The parking spaces were labeled things like, Foreign Language, Science Lab, Principal and Stenography. At my old school the staff just had a separate parking space. My mom pulled into a spot that said Mechanical Drawing. 
    "Let's go meet your teachers." my mom said as we were getting out of the car. What does she think I am, five? Give me a break, let's, as in me and her, is never going to happen. 
    "Uh, mom, let's, as in me and you, is never going to happen. I'm just going to go see my teachers now. You can drive home and start unpacking or whatever you want to do. 'Kay?" I told her and then grabbed my bag out of the car and shut the door.  
    " 'Kay." she replied after I started fidgeting when she took a strand of my hair and placed it behind my ear. She has to be such a mom all the time. I started walking toward the ancient school after that. I couldn't deal with my mom anymore. I walked up the ancient steps and to the right where there was a sign that said Main Agency. I walked up to the receptionist unless they call her something old too. 
    "Hi, how may I help you?" she asked me when I walked in. So I looked to the left and right I think I even looked up and then I pointed to myself. She nodded her head like she was talking to some idiot who just asked her What time is the 9 o'clock parade? I only asked if she was talking to me because at my old school the lady at the front desk just had you fill out a paper on why you were here because if you were a new student then you would've already got the information that you needed to have befor

Chapter 2- Endless Day
About a month had passed since the first day of school and I was starting to get more used to where all my classes were and how to get there. I knew alot more people but the seniors will still really mean to me. Amelia, Jennifer and I walked to school together everyday since I now know I only live 4 houses away from her and Ben sometimes would walk down to Amelia's house in the morning and walk with us too, he usually just took the bus though. Today after I walked to school Ben met me at my locker. He said that he wanted help with his French homework and asked me if I could not only help him with his homework but tutor him in French. I quickly agreed to the tutoring thing and then we went to do his homework. 
    "Oh, la vache a dit moo!" Ben tried to say in the most perfect French he could. He did it fine though so we went onto number two, so I said. 
    "Qui, qui, dit la vache moo. Maintenant, essayez de numero deux. Science est un plaisir." And he looked at me like What? and so I said it in English. 
    "Or, yes, yes, the cow said moo. Now try number two. Science is fun." This time he got it and he said.
    "Ok, uh, Science st um paser." this one wasn't right. I didn't even get half he said. So I corrected him.
    "No, you have to pronounce it like Science est un plaisir." which he didn't get to do because we had two different first classes. I had math and he had science. In math we were doing Algebra 2. I was called up to the board to answer the question 2aX2c-3a=? when it's obvious the answer is impossible unless we knew what the variables were. So that was the easiest question I ever had to answer. The rest of the class was really boring because the whole time we were helping this girl understand a problem. When the bell rang I zipped right out of there and nearly ran to tech. I sat down next to Amelia and she handed me a piece of paper, she would've just talked to me but the math teacher made me late for tech and he was giving us directions when I walked in. I opened the paper and read-

You didn't miss much. All he really said is that we're starting a project due in three weeks. It's worth like 10% of our grade or something. Um, oh yea, me and my sister are inviting a bunch of friend over tonight because it is me and Jennifer's birthday. You can spend the night if you want but I was thinking that maybe you wanted to come over after school so then we can talk and you can call your mom and ask her if you can spend the night. I invited Ben because well I don't know this for sure but I think you like him and I know he likes you so you can hook up, well my number is

    I already knew my mom would say yes so i grabbed my favorite pen and started writing back.

of course i can go. even if my mom says no i'll be there and I'll sleep ova 2. this is gonna b so much fun. wat do u want me 2 get u guys 4 yer birthday? anything? oh and i don't like ben! he was just the first person here 2 talk 2 me so we've been hangin out alot. wat was yer numba again i didn't see it because it smudged. o and by the way, i'm really happy u invited me because at my old school no 1 eva invited me. so thanks.

Right after i handed the paper to Amelia, Ben slapped a note on my key board and it made a beeping sound and so I grabbed the note and shoved it into my pocket. After Mr. Ronals went by I took it out of my pocket and read it-

 Chapter 3- Discovery
When me and Amelia were walking home from school heading to her house for the party, I didn't talk much. All I could picture was Lela's freaked out expression after she had been staring at me for so long. All I really heard out of her and Jennifer's conversation was "O-M-G Jennie, I can't wait for Sami and Susan and Kristyn and Jaymi and Rachie and Lela and everyone to come over tonight and I can't believe Scarlet is going to spend the night!" And when I heard them say Lela I almost passed out. I really don't want to see Lela at the moment. I think she might have figured out what my problem was. 
    "Uh, is Lela spending the night, too?" I asked quietly, I didn't want it to sound obvious that I didn't want her to come, if she did sleep over though then I would just ignore her and sneak out in the middle of the night when they were all sleeping. 
    "Yea, she's one of our best friends, we've known each other since her dad divorced her mom 6 years ago." Jennifer said, and she said it like it was obvious that they were friends. Jennifer had gone goth since the beginning of the year, she doesn't look half bad in dark clothes and eye makeup and you can definitely tell the difference between her and Amelia now. By the time she finished saying that we were already in their house and I was amazed by how it looked on the inside. The outside of the house was whiter than a ghost and looked like it had been painted recently, the roof looked like the color of a bruise that had just formed, more like Jennifer's eyes and each window had a box full of carnations and daffodils. It was a gorgeous house. The inside was even better than the outside. Each curtain that hung from the window was off white in color, sort of like my face when I saw how Lela was looking at me, and they were so long that they just barely touched the floor. The walls were like purple grapes that had been picked off the vines too early and hadn't ripened yet, the ceiling was very similar in color to the walls, just a little brighter. There was a white staircase that was so large it looked like it descended all the way to the heavens. There were black and white tiled floors that looked as though they were washed every day. And when I looked up there was the most beautiful chandelier hanging to my left and a smaller one to my far right in the dining room. We walked up the magnificent stairs and to the left where there was a sign that said, "Amelia's Room," and across from it a room the said, "Jennifer's Room," Jennifer went into her room and Amelia and I went into her room. When I saw her room I dropped my bag on the ground and let my mouth pop open. Amelia's room was even prettier than the room I just saw downstairs. Her room was spotless, not even a sock was on the ground. Her walls were whiter than a piece of paper and probably even cleaner, there were pictures of sunsets on the east and south walls. On the north and west walls there was a giant salmon colored book case that matched her bed post. I bet if I took a coin and threw it on her bed it would bounce right off the comforter and hit me in the eye. To the left of her bed there was a nightstand that had a lamp on it that was pinkish in color and definitely matched her comforter because the lampshade was the same color as it was. I absolutely loved her rug, it was pink and it kept getting brighter until it reached the center of the rug where it was the same color as the bookshelf was. her closet was open and all I saw was a bunch of colors until I noticed this dark black dress. It was the only thing black in there and as soon as I saw it I ran over and pulled it out.
    "Let me see this on you!" I nearly screamed in her face and pushed her into the bathroom. I waited a few minutes while admiring her room more, the pink fuzzy phone next to her door rang while she was in there, I answered it after two rings.
    "Hello?" I said into the bottom.
