HANDS ON SUN 22nd FEB 2009
Tune in this year's new series on SUNDAY 22nd FEB at 10.40am on RTE1
This weeks programme we look into the quality of intrepreters in Ireland espeically in medicial and legal areas.
we ask Centre of Deaf Studies (CDS) director Lorraine Lesson whether 2 years of training is really enough for ISL intrepreters to learn ISL and intrepretion skills?
we ask members of the Deaf communty of their experience working with intrepreters in university, hosiptals, court and many other areas.
Our accredicted Intrepreters, Amanda Coogan and Darren Byrne talks about their training and the importance of accredition and have the skills to work in certain areas
We interview SLIS, a governement sign language agency about their practice and their accredition system and we also speak to Bridge, a private agancy using a different system in judging the quaility of intrepreters
DONT FORGET TO WATCH IT!
Thanks for being our buddy!!
