SOUL MUSIC
Me, Myself, and I
Scooty & the Skyhooks started in the early 80's & went onto become one of the North of Scotland's most popular bands, playing to packed dancefloors in venue's all over the Highlands. Their mix of Stax/Atlantic soul classics & chart songs of the time was to prove a recipe for sustained success and popularity. Their big brassy sound and raw energy was guaranteed to have people dancing all night wherever they played & they always endevoured to put on a slick professional show. Their efforts were rewarded by supporting Showaddywaddy, Fish etc. The highlight of their 'support' slots being Deacon Blue in front of 1000's at the Black Isle Show.

1992 saw the band make their 1st recording 'Time's a Healer'.

Singer Davie Ross left the band in 1994, when the band name was changed to 'The Skyhooks'.

In 2003 the entertainment scene was changing which made it more difficult to sustain a 6 piece band so after many great years it was decided to end an era on a "High".

Yesterdays legends to a legendary performance.Last night was so so brilliant best gig I`ve been to in ages. The choons, the performance, the crowd were so bloody good.Hope you release the video of the gig on dvd to show all those unlucky people that missed out or didnae go just what a special night it was.(I`m just glad I can say I WAS THERE!) Get a live cd out there to0...a few bob to be made as I`m sure many people have lost their cassettes from days gone by.Hopefully this will be the first of a few more live performances perhaps one of the festivals we have on our doorsteps, got to have another show sometime in the future as I`m sure it was such a buzz back on stage together with your adoring fans. I`m sure the gig brought many many good memoiires of yer shows thought the highlands which with that special bonus of last nights show will last a lifetime.
A`ra best guys and gals hopefully not for the last time
