My name is Giovy Jimenez.
It's pronounced JO-vee he-MENiz
I was born and raised in South Florida, and my dad is Mexican and my mom is Colombian!
I've been singing since I was three years old, performing since I was 7, and when I turned 12 was when I realized that I loved music so much that I wanted to pursue a professional career in it.
After winning several talent competitions, and performing all over Florida in over 200 shows in 2 years in which I sang songs from my favorite artists of all types of genres, I started learning how to play the guitar and shortly after began to take my first steps into the world of songwriting. The combination of two of my greatest passions, music & writing, allowed me to begin to discover my own voice as an artist.
This brings me to today-
I'm a 20 year old singer/songwriter whose music is a fusion of pop, country, folk, and latin. It's music with a lot of soul, I pour my heart into every lyric I write and every melody I sing. That's what good music is about to me, a pure and deep sense of emotion. Feeling, whatever feeling that may be, is what drives me as a musician & a singer.
As a songwriter, I'm driven by my desire to be a storyteller, not only of my own life and experiences but also by what I perceive in the world around me. I believe we all have a story to tell and what better way to do that than through the beautiful expression of a song! What I love most about music is the ability it gives me to connect with people of all ages and from all places, on such a personal level.
