My Timeline

close About Me

Me, Myself, and I
What a wonderful life I have. I have the most wonderful husband and a great family. I am a stay at home mom (finally), and live a blessed family/farm oriented life. Randy's kids and my kids are a great crew and we have a blast....
My heart belongs in Montana, but I love Iowa and farm life. We raise corn and soybeans, have a bunch of kitties, a few rabbits and my babies are my koi fish.
I have wonderful friends from Montana.
2007 - I won the Iowa State competition for the White House Egg Decorating Contest. My egg will be on display at the White House in the year of 2008 and then head to the Smithsonian Institute. I won $500 and a trip to the White House for Easter.
Music
60's, 70's, 80's and old country music - - am I dating myself?
Films
any John Wayne and old Clint Eastwood movie. Not fond of chick flicks. Love old classics.
Sports
Indianapolis Colt and Monday night football
Scared Of
snakes
Happiest When
I'm with my family, feeding my fish and looking at my pond, visiting with my friends, cooking, gardening, and working with my husband

  • Harvest Update

Randy's Dad's fields are done. Grandview Grimms is done. Snively is done. We start on beans tomorrow at our place. Beans are dusty, dusty.

We are tired, but the corn has averages 225 bushels and acre. Yeah!

  • My babies are getting big!

Most of you might think I'm talking about my kids Mike & Tessa. As much as it is true that they are getting big.....I'm really talking about my fishies! When we got 19 little buggers in early July, they were 4 inches long. They are now 8-10 inches long. People that spend $100 or more just to have a large fish are simply not patient or need instant gratification. This time next year, they should be close to 2 feet long. Did you know that koi fish can live up over 200 years given the right conditions. Damn, that would be a big fish if they kept growing and growing. I think they little buggers will outlive me, and that's okay, cuz I have many more years to enjoy them......

  • Harvest has Started!

All the equipment is up at Randy's Dad's place. Randy picked 3/4 of the corn in the north field today. We move over to the Boston place tomorrow to open up the corn fields there. I love harvest time!.....but then, coming home....gotta cook, do the laundry, blah, blah, blah.....where's the maid when you need her? :D
