Tuesday was a survivor

and, an added bonus—mad cow disease

Britain, on the other side of the world thankfully, is breaking out in disease again. Foot and Mouth. Odd thing to call it. Obviously they were all out of names, unlike tornado namers, and just called it by where it exists.

All this worry of terrorism, bombs and the like. Blowing aircraft out of the sky; all minor compared with the potential of a serious case of Foot and Mouth disease. You have to hope the labs that deal with these things, and in this case appear to be the source of them too, have some fairly rigid controls over who has access to their product. Essentially a weapon of mass destruction.

It feels better to be on this side of the world when there's a major drama happening. I imagine all we will see for a few days will be the images of piles of dead cows being trucked away to be burnt.
