- ACYC basically acts as an advocate for young people between 12 and 24, so your voice gets heard by the Auckland City Council.
We wanna know what you think about certain issues (e.g. youth gangs, lowering the voting age) so become a member of the "ACYC GROUP" and check out our forums, polls etc. Or leave us a message asking us to set up a new topic or poll.
Check out our blogs for info on different events, competitions and generally bout opportunities to do cool stuff...
If your interested in joining ACYC, check out the "Join ACYC" blog or go to www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/acyc

Have your say on Auckland City Councils plan for 2008-2009
You are invited to attend Auckland city’s annual plan youth forum that is taking place on the 28th of April 2008. Each year Auckland City Council is required to produce an annual plan to communicate what it proposes to do and its priorities for spending over the next financial year. The plan affects what happens in your city and your community. This forum is for young people to communicate their views on the annual plan. We hope you can help us mobilise your community. Please forward this invitation to other young people so they can give their feedback on Auckland City Council’s plans for the future.
The three key issues are contained in the Annual Plan 2008/2009 are:
1. Rates
2. Deferment of capital expenditure projects
3. Metrowater charitable payments.
More information on the above areas can be found on the Auckland City Council website, www.aucklandcity.govt.nz.
Auckland City Council will be consulting with the public on its draft 2008/2009 Annual Plan from 18th April to 20th April.
We are inviting you to attend a public meeting where Auckland City Council along with the Auckland City Youth Council will be present to hear your questions and concerns. The meeting will inform the youth council’s submission on the annual plan to the council. There will also be an opportunity to fill in a feedback form about the plans. Your views are important to us and we invite your feedback.
