“Dreams in the Shadows” is an experimental writing project which will allow the reader to witness the process of writing a novel. I hope this will allow the reader a window into the tedium that goes into a finished piece of literature. During the months ahead you will see constant revisions, periods of writer’s block, mistakes, more mistakes, misspellings and countless edits.

I invite the readers to use the comments section for their own suggestions regarding the plot, corrections, edits, stylistic changes or for any purpose they see fit. At the current time I am also working on a second book which is an unconnected work of fiction. I expect that this will complicate this project greatly.

For those readers already familiar with the character of Erica Pike, you will learn the story of the girl upon whom this character is actually based. This will of course means that the story will differ greatly from the Erica Pike with whom you are already familiar. You will find their two worlds similar but the two characters’ stories will not be connected.

I hope you enjoy participating in this project as we both go down a path of interactive literature which I believe will become common place in the future.

I am currently alive if not safe. My compound in California was attacked by several Shadow teams which were under the control of the Deacons. This attack included an airborne assault by combat helicopters. My personal bodyguards, Shadow Team Alpha, were able to protect me during the attack and I was able to escape by car.

I am currently at secret location in California. We are awaiting rescue but it appears that the majority of Shadows in the United States have given their allegiance to the Deacons. Theses Shadows have succeeded in taking control of the Knight Templar headquarters in New York and the remaining Templar have been forced to leave the United States. Therefore my only protection is the surviving members of Shadow Team Alpha.

The Deacons have apparently taken complete control of the Hymn of One and the Majority of Denderah Temples in the world. Currently the true Order only has control of the Temples in Paris and Dublin as well as the High Temple in Bled, Slovenia. Pockets of resistance remain throughout the world and I encourage them to use all means to protect our religion.

It has come to my attention that the Deacons have installed a pretender on the Throne of Illumination in Providence. Their King is nothing but a boy and does not have the legitimacy to rule. The Order of Denderah can only be ruled by a woman. No male may serve as a King without a legitimate Queen who is of the pure bloodline. This child has no Queen and therefore can not rule. I am the only Queen of Denderah.

Furthermore I have become aware that the Deacons have used the Hymn of One as a cover for numerous criminal acts including murder. They did in fact murder my cousin, Bree Avery, for her blood. The Gift of Blood is a ceremony of murder and the world must be aware of this fact. I will not discuss the reasons that the Deacons have continued with this ancient practice of human sacrifice but I do declare that it is from this day forth no longer part of the doctrine of the Order of Denderah. This ceremony serves only the Deacons and has never served the Family of Lilith.

We are attempting to regain control of my internet accounts and assets. This may take some time.
