- Dawn French was born in Holyhead, Wales in 1957. She attended London's Central School of speech and drama in the hopes of becoming a Drama teacher herself. Instead she met Jennifer Saunders and the pair formed a double act after a rocky beginning to their unlikely friendship. Her rise to fame occured through her work in The Comic Strip.
Since those early days, Dawn has been a hit in many television series' such asMurder Most Horrid, Wild West, Ted and Alice and, perhaps her most well-known was as Geraldine Granger in The Vicar of Dibley. All the while, continuing her work with Jennifer as Britains most famous female comedy double, French and Saunders. Dawn is married to fellow British comedien, Lenny Henry. They have one daughter, Billie.

Dawn is set to star alongside Jennifer Saunders in the animated film, Coraline set for release next year.
The movie is an adaptation of a children's novel by Neil Gaiman about a girl who discovers another world.
Dawn plays Mrs. Spink.
Other stars include; Dakota Fanning Ian McShane and Teri Hatcher
