- The Fairfax Kangaroos are named after the North Melbourne Kangaroos (a suburb at one time of the city of Melbourne in Victoria Australia). we are an all-star team that play in the washington dc area. i started the team out at fairfax ice arena. we played there from the summer of 2005 to the end of the 2006/2007 fall/winter season. we were in the playoffs 3 times out of 4 season (2 of them were in the fall/winter season when everyone gets in the playoffs). now we are a all-star team.
