The Burning Man festival occurs every year, at the Black Rock desert, Nevada, beginning on the last Monday in August and lasting for 7 days.
Attracting people from all across the globe, Burning Man has grown from its small beginnings on a beach in San Francisco in the 1980's, to a city of 40,000 plus citizens, which rises and falls each August and September, leaving behind no trace of its short existence.
Every year hundreds of Irish make the pilgrimage to Black Rock City. We are trying to provide a means for this large community to keep in touch with one another, so we can bring a part the of Burning Man experience into our lives away from the Play - Websites

Irish Decompression, Nov. 21st, 2009 - Tickets Now on Sale
* * *
Tickets for this year's Irish Decompression (Smokin' Craic! '09) are
now on sale here:
http://irishdecompression.eventbrite.com
We'll be celebrating, interacting with each other under the stars and
creatively expressing ourselves from late afternoon on Saturday the
21st until early morning on Sunday the 22nd.
The admission is €25 and the number of tickets is strictly limited.
When they're sold out, we will not be able to allow entry to more
people under any circumstances.
NO TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE GATE. YOU MUST PRE-PURCHASE
TICKETS.
Please don't arrive on the night expecting to get in. If you do,
you'll be sadly disappointed as we turn you away.
LOCATION CHANGE
Due to unfortunate circumstances unrelated to the event, the old
location (Charleville Castle) is no longer available. Indeed, its
future is under threat (more on that in another communiqué).
However, the good people of the Fingal County Arts Department and
Fingal County Council have taken us under their wing.
The new venue is historic MALAHIDE CASTLE which dates back to the 12th
century:
http://www.malahidecastle.com/histor...
This location ( http://tinyurl.com/ylcjugl ) is within easy reach of
the greater Dublin area transportation links. It is in the gorgeous
setting of the West Lawn, part of the stunning Botanic Gardens there.
There is enough parking for Cromwell's Army (but they're not invited),
however public transport and ride-sharing is encouraged. More
information is available in the Event Guide which you will access upon
purchasing your ticket.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS.
Once you've bought your ticket, why not start thinking about how you
can participate in Smokin Craic!? We know you are a mighty talented
bunch and we encourage as many as possible to contribute to the event
- creatively, materially, or in other ways with your time and energy.
This is *your* community celebration. We are very fortunate to have
the opportunity to be in this magical and special place - let's make
the most of it! Needed are volunteers for decoration, construction,
signage, electrical, performance, greeting, MCing, Leave No Trace,
lighting - and many other things. We also need donations of art,
decorations, costumes & accoutrements, rugs, flooring, chairs, couches
& cushions, etc. Got a truck or van? We can probably use that too.
Think of how you'd like to participate, what talents you have, what
you'd like to give - then let us know by sending an email to ireland@burningman.com
.
Once again, to get your tickets while they're hot, go here now!:
http://irishdecompression.eventbrite.com
See you on the 21st!

Irish Decompression - November 21st - 22nd,Charleville Castle
Friends, Burners, Countrymen,
The Irish Burners are proud to present
3rd Annual Irish Decompression
Smokin’ Craic! ‘09
Saturday the 21st to Sunday 22nd November 2009
Charleville Castle, Tullamore, Co. Offaly, Ireland.
Oh joy! Come join the craic-havin’ Irish Burner community as we turn
historic Charleville Castle, the legendary Irish gathering place par
excellence of Shelley, Byron and Sir Thomas More, into a glowing and
irreverent echo of our beloved playa!!
Yes, this year we are trying something new – in conjunction with the
friendly, amenable and SF-decom-loving Charleville Castle Heritage
Trust, we have been granted use of their insane castle and its
historic grounds for an extended celebration of playa style nonsense
and frolics! Just an hour outside Dublin, Charleville Castle is the
former Irish seat of the More family, Knights Templar, Freemasons,
Muster-Master Generals of Ireland, and eventually, gadabout owners of
the most renowned party house in all the land!
Now in its third year, Ireland’s Decompression needs a new and
distinctive home amongst good friends, and we have found them here…
The castle has long had a history of innovation and revelry, and it is
in this established spirit that the Trust has decided to open its
doors to our community. We sense the beginning of a long, enjoyable,
and fruitful relationship with these free-thinking keepers of a true
piece of Irish heritage, and therefore we invite YOU to come and help
us start this friendship with the fire and energy it deserves!
In keeping with the 10 principles of Burning Man, all shall be
welcome, and participants are cordially invited, nay, positively
encouraged to bring art, toys, tools, costume, theatre, lights,
sounds, sense, nonsense, and incense to transform the castle into a
little piece of the playa, deep in the heart of 1000 acres of Europe’s
last fully walled demesne!! There will be ample space, time, and
volunteer opportunity for anyone to set up anything they like. As long
as the castle doesn’t blow up, nearly anything will be permitted, so
bring fire, lasers, poetry, or whatever – you will all be welcome!!
In return, participants gets to arrive whenever they like on Saturday,
reconstruct the playa ‘til the sun comes up and beyond, and rest,
relax and recover Sunday before they depart. There will be a huge
amount of chill space with roaring fires, and there is plenty of
accommodation in the local town. Camping will be allowed for -
(strictly for the hardy amongst us, as the Irish winter bites hard!),
and as an extra bonus, everyone who camps will get to help us with
clean-up later on Sunday afternoon!! Yay!! There will be ample parking
available for those of you who drive. We will be running shuttle buses
from the local town to the castle on a regular basis, and shuttle
buses out of there from Sunday morning...
So come, lovely people, come join us, and together we shall rule the
over the default world as its grey-faced forces break upon our mighty
battlements!!!!
Tickets go on sale soon and will be *strictly limited* and only
available *in advance*. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, if you'd like to volunteer your service, art or love
for this event, drop an email to ireland@burningman.com and let us
know how you'd like to contribute.
Cheers!
- Randy

Dublin Decom planning meeting!
If you would like to be part of the creative force that is
Decompression (it takes a village...) come to 4 Dame Lane in Dublin
City Centre this Tuesday September 15th at 7pm.
Here's a map:
http://tinyurl.com/n7gevs
Make sure your voice is heard! If you can't be there but would like
input, please send a message via someone who is, letting us all know
how you want to contribute..
Remember, decompression is about participation and your creative
input. It's not a show put on by others for entertainment or
consumption, it's a community celebration of our collective values and
energies and of all things burner - let's make it shine! You need to
participate or it just won't happen (or at least, it might not look
like what it might have had you done so).
Bring your ideas, your love and your amazing selves!0 Comments 55 days

Lenux52 weeks agoHere's a little present for you. It's a shorty collection of deep tracks I've been listening to of late featuring Barem, Marco Carola, Kenny Larkin, Solomun, Bruno Pronsato, etc. The focus was on a deeper sound pitched around 122bpm crossing over some deep house with dark minimal and tech grooves to good affect.
Enjoy
