Über mich

Ich über mich
Major Who is an artist development and music production company owned and operated by New York City Music Producers Sheldon Steiger and James Walsh

Viral promotion and self-made media is the highest form of currency today.

In spite of all the tools available, it all comes down to making great records. That is the vehicle.

The audience will gravitate toward what is naturally great, not what they're told (sold) is great.

Growing recognition of the power of openness will be what marks the first decade of the 21st Century.

An award-winning and accomplished singer/songwriter, Todd Alsup recently released his debut CD, "How I'm Made," to rave reviews. The CD has been described as earnest, provocative, pieces of contemporary pop/rock fused passionately with a positive lyrical point of view, and includes the radio-friendly "Unoriginal." As a graduate of New York University and a member of the noted songwriting organizations here in the U.S., Todd is now giving back by teaching music to eager students. Combining just the right touch of soul and theatricality, he fuses an edgy rock/pop sound with memorable results. Todd is hard at work with producers James Walsh and Sheldon Steiger of Threshold Music on his soon to be released second album. Stay tuned - this one promises to be even more electrifying!

From the studio to the stage, everything is spinning around three themes: love, sex, and madness. ATOMICTOM pulls from previous decades' sounds like The Cure and The Smiths, and mixes those with modern day pop rockers like The Dandy Warhols and The Killers. The lyrics revolve around personal experiences, jealous overtones ("Maybe I'm Wrong") and obsessive behavior ("Secret Fascination").

ATOMICTOM assembles from the four corners of the U.S. and now call the "Big Apple" their home. They released their first EP in June of 2005, revamping it with newer recordings in May 2006, and they recently released the dance-able single "You Always Get What You Want". Expect an EP to include that single plus another fan favorite - "Play That Dirty Girl" - within the next few months.

ATOMICTOM will be on tour in the summer of 2007 around the New York City area, and in the fall down the East coast, after which they'll head back to the studio and begin tracking a full length album to be released sometime in the spring of 2008. Don't forget to check out their "making of" video, now viewable on youtube.com.

Ellie Lawson is an artist whose compelling voice and rich sonic landscape reflects a life journey of personal determination and self-discovery. Born in South London, the vocalist/lyricist/musician/ composer has invented a unique musical world that is both beat-driven and organic, lyrical and edgy, thoughtful and entrancing. Many of the songs on "THE PHILOSOPHY TREE", her debut album, are rooted from early homemade demos composed alone in her bedroom, back in her mother's council estate house. Seeded from a bohemian, and yet liberating up-bringing, Ellie's inspiration was ignited in her early teens on discovering conscious artists like KRS-One, The Fugees, and later on when she started playing the guitar artists such as Tracy Chapman, Nick Drake, Kate Bush, Bjork. She soon branched out from writing to hip hop instrumentals that she used to buy in record shops, into writing her own material on guitar and keys as well as collaborating and searching for instrumentals from producers that she could get in the studio with. It eventually led to LA, to collaborate with producer DJ Lethal on the final album, alongside contributions from William Orbit on two tracks, and recordings in London by herself. The Philosophy Tree's tracks were produced, mixed and played on by Lawson and a superb ensemble of guests including DJ Lethal (House of Pain, Limp Bizkit) John OBrien (Dr. Dre, Joss Stone) OD Hunte (Missy Elliot, Byron Stingily), Jeff Philips (Michelle Branch) and Matthew Gerrard (Kelly Clarkson, Edens Crush) The Philosophy Tree has Ellen DeGeneres and Billboard singing its praises; and is ONLY available in Barnes & Noble stores nationwide and online at www.barnesandnoble.com.
