- Hello, and thanks for stumbling onto the Young Scot page. This month we are looking for you guys to get involved in our latest project Young Scot: Sounds Right! Listen carefully, well read really, and we’ll fill you in on how you can get involved!
What we want you to do is go to www.youngscotsoundsright.org and listen to all the bands then rate them. Just click on the Band tab and then click on each band - simple! The reason we’re asking you to do this is because the three most popular bands will be playing at a gig we’re organising at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.
The event is to celebrate that for 20 years your rights have been recognised through something called United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child. You can find out more about your rights by following this link: http://www.youngscot.org/podcasts/?n...
Voting closes on Thursday 5th November so get voting!

Read our blogs and our bulletins. Use Bebo sensibly and carefully and please accept our apologies that we can't be held responsible for anything you may find from links on our friends list. Stay safe!

- If you leave us a comment or send us a message and we don't get back to you it's not because we're being rude - honest! - it might be because your profile is set to private or is age-restricted. If this happens we will add you as a friend and will comment back if you accept us. You can always give us a phone!

Says Who?
Says Who? is our new national consultation toolkit, and gives you the chance to tell us what you think on the key topics that matter to you. From health to sport, we want to hear your views so you can play your part in being a citizen of today.
The toolkit is designed to be interactive, using tools such as video and comment boxes to let you have your say and to give you the chance to instantly see what other Young Scots are saying. The toolkit also has a full survey tool to ask you more in-depth questions, and there are a series of resources at the bottom of the page so you can find out more about that particular topic. Check it out at www.youngscotsayswho.org.
Says Who? is all about letting you have your say and play your part in shaping your Scotland. People want to hear your views, and Says Who? will give you the chance to speak directly to them, and answer you the questions that matter. If you have any questions email us at sayswho@youngscot.org and we'll get straight back to you!
Our first consultation on the new toolkit focuses on the Youth Commission on Alcohol. The Commission is made up of a group of 18 young people from across Scotland who have been appointed by the Scottish Government to conduct a year long investigation into Scotland's relationship with alcohol.
They will be making recommendations to the Scottish Government next February about how to start changing Scotland's drinking culture. They have lots of work to do and need to find out what other young people think about some of the issues that they are looking in to. Your views will play a key part in their research, so head to Says Who? and tell them what you really think! Complete the survey and you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win a Nintendo Wii Sports Pack!

Win Ticekts to Athlete's Gig
Bauer Media and the Scottish Government’s One Scotland campaign have announced the super-cool headliners for the final Rock Against Racism gig of the year. On Thursday 29th October, London’s finest - Athlete - will be heading to The Warehouse in Aberdeen and you could be there thanks to Young Scot.
Since shooting to prominence seven years ago with their spirited brand of electro-tinged, indie-pop and the success of their Mercury-nominated debut, ‘Vehicles And Animals’, Athlete have established themselves among the UK’s finest songsmiths. The band released their fourth album ‘Black Swan’ earlier this year which went straight into the UK album chart Top 20.
To win a pair of tickets to the gig follow this link: http://www.youngscot.org/competition...0 Comments 15 days
