- Hailing from Dundee, The Law formed initially to write and play songs as a means of venting frustration at girlfriends and bosses, resulting in swaggeringly confident tunes with sing-along choruses, classy guitar licks and sublime melodies. Consisting of Stuart Purvey (vocals), Stevie Anderson (guitar), brothers Martin Donald (drums), and Simon Donald (bass), the band are firm favourites amongst a city finding itself buoyant with rock’n’roll belief and desire.
Their debut album ‘A Measure of Wealth’ is out now through the bands own label Local Boy Records (distributed by Universal via Absolute). The first two singles taken from the album - ‘Don’t Stop, Believe’ (released 20 July 2009) and a special single edit of ‘The Chase’ (released 14 September 2009) – gained wide spread radio support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, XFM, Clyde, Tay, Northsound, Forth etc.
The Law are on tour throughout October 2009 with more live dates to follow in November.

The Law on BBC Radio Scotland tomorrow
We are delighted to announce that Stuart will be joining BBC Radio Scotland’s Janice Forsyth for a live chat tomorrow (Saturday) morning from 11am. Janice is a huge fan of the band and has selected Television Satellite (released 9 November) as her ‘Single of the Month’ for November. You can listen to BBC Radio Scotland on 92-95FM, DAB and online.

The Law confirmed for 'In The City', Manchester
We can confirm that The Law have been added to the official lineup for this year’s ‘In the City’ - an annual international music convention held in Manchester. The Law will be playing on 19 October at Hatter’s Hostel (live venue and hostel rolled into one!). This year ‘In the City’ will see over 150 bands play over three days at various venues across Manchester. Tickets are not available for individual gigs but you can purchase an ITC wristband which gives you access to shows across the three day event, including The Law gig. For a limited time only, these wristbands are available priced £20.
