CLIFDEN RNLI NEWS
The Annual RNLI Dinner Dance takes place on FRIDAY 7th March in the Station House Hotel in Clifden. Tickets available from RNLI Crewmembers.
SATURDAY 8th March the RNLI will be holding the official naming ceremony for their new "D Class 1B1" Lifeboat, which has already been in service the past number of months. The new boat the "Grainne Uaile" is now on station and ready to continue the great work done by her predecessor.
The new lifeboat cost in the region of €40,000 and to highlight the importance of having the RNLI service available in the area, 2007 was one of the busiest years on record, with the RNLI being called out on a total of 18 occasions, with call outs ranging from disabled yachts, drifting vessels, taking people ashore from islands and searching for swimmers and divers.
We wish her and the Crew who man her at any time safe passage and safe return to shore.0 Comments 637 days
