Me, Myself, and I
Alternate Image is a group of artists collectively creating mixed-media pieces but individually specializing in a variety of mediums. The artists' specialties range from ceramics to fibers to photography.

The members are Barbara Chadwick-Bland, Ann Hartley, Masumi Kataoka, Jason Kishell, Mari Omori, Lisa Qualls, Matthew Scheiner and Alyssa Wood. They reside in Texas and North Carolina.   • Lost and Found

    Our show Lost and Found in Dallas, TX opens July 2 and runs through July 31, 2008. The closing reception is from 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2008.

    Members of the group explore both the form and associations based on the suitcase including displacement, adventure, memories and smuggling. The work will include 2-D, sculpture and installation.

    7 guest artists will be joining the group for this show. The artists are Andrea Cook, Garland Fielder, Regin Igloria, Jenn Pascual, Valerie Yaklin-Brown and Lotus Witt-Bermudez.

  • December News

    Recently Masumi Kataoka and Jason Kishell exhibited work in faculty shows at Houston Community College. Mari Omari's installation is up through December 6th at O'Kane Gallery, University of Houston Downtown. Barbara Chadwick Bland recently sold out her fall inventory at Art and Craft shows around North Carolina. Ann Hartley recently taught a mixed media workshop in Dallas, TX. Matthew Scheiner is making new work inspired by his recent trip to Eastern Europe. Lisa Qualls is showing her new kimono at Asher Gallery in the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Her show at Farrago restaurant is up through New Year's Day. Alyssa Wood is making new work and deciding which of her many artist in residence opportunities to accept.
