Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1980 in San Francisco, California by singer/drummer Tom Hunting, guitarists Tim Agnello and Kirk Hammett, and bassist Carlton Melson.
Over the course of twenty-seven years, the band has gone through numerous lineup changes and lengthy breaks, yet seven albums on, remains among the most devastating and influential thrash metal bands in the history of metal.
Exodus is currently working on their eighth studio album, to be released in the second half of 2007.

EXODUS - GUITARIST GARY HOLT "NEXT ALBUM WILL BLOW PEOPLE'S MINDS"
The German edition of Metal Hammer magazine conducted an interview with guitarist Gary Holt of San Francisco Bay Area thrashers EXODUS at this year's installment of the Graspop Metal Meeting ( http://www.metal-hammer.de/Exodus_Ga... ), which was held on June 26-28, 2009 on the festival grounds of the Boeretang in Dessel, Belgium.
When asked about EXODUS' plans for a new studio album, Holt said, "Hopefully we're hitting the studio around November 1 with Mr. Sneap [British producer Andy Sneap; MEGADETH, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY]. It's gonna be sick. We have four [songs] recorded [and left over] from the last session [for 2007's 'The Atrocity Exhibition... Exhibit A'], and I've got, like, nine [other tracks] I'm working on, and Lee [Altus, guitar] has a bunch of stuff. But this next album is gonna blow people's minds."
Regarding the upcoming CD's musical direction, Holt said, "There's a couple of twists on this. I try not to repeat every album. I mean, we did 'Tempo Of The Damned' [2004], [which was] a little more old-school, and we did 'Shovel Headed Kill Machine' [2005], which was really brutal and fast, and then 'The Atrocity Exhibition... Exhibit A' [2007], [which] was, like, longer and more epic songs. So this album's gonna have some different stuff to it. Maybe a little more dual-guitar stuff, 'cause I've been playing with Lee for quite awhile now — a little more dual-guitar harmony shred stuff."

EXODUS + BELPHEGOR TEAM UP FOR APRIL/MAY NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
Bay Area thrashers EXODUS will return in early 2009 (in support of their latest album, The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A) as direct support for German thrashers, Kreator.
Opening bands will come from Austria's BELPHEGOR (Nuclear Blast) touring in support of their latest album, Bondage Goat Zombie, and California's Warbringer (Century Media).
EXODUS also announced 15 off-date shows during this upcoming tour.
All tickets are now on sale through all ticketing outlets. To make things easier for the fans, EXODUS have provided several purchase link options for each of the dates of this tour. They can all be seen on the bands MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/exodus). (Scroll towards the middle left side).
EXODUS guitarist/songwriter Gary Holt checks in from his home in Northern California with the following:
"If you can believe it, we've NEVER toured with Kreator even though Mille and I go WAY back. We've played occasional festivals together and played 5 shows back in '97 on Summer Metal Meeting with them. We've always had a LOT of fun with them, so I'm looking forward to spending time with old friends Kreator, new friends Warbringer, and soon-to-be-good-friends Belphegor.
We're pretty damned happy to be playing nine shows in Canada because Canadian cities tend to get overlooked. The last time we were in Winnipeg, Calgary, and another city which I can't remember right now, those shows were full of 17-year-olds and they went insane. Those dates were the best on that tour!"
EXODUS' next album, The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit B is due out by Summer 2009.
