Alibis For Cheating Wives formed in 1963 as a Cliff Richards cover band, unfortunately none of it's members had been born yet, they disbanded shortley after! Nearly 50 years later A.F.C.W reunited to become one of the biggest bands in terms of bodyfat, an average raised by frontman Messy-Pinball Dave, who still holds the record for most farm animals consumed in a day. But the fame didn't stop there, in 2008 Guitarist Cathal Geary & Drummer Ronan Cooney former members of the Dardanelles, came 1st in an allstate doubles Strawberry crushing competition, the jammy cunts! The remaining Members of the band are Paul Mahony on Guitar and Daniel "who's yer daddy" McGoldrick on Bass. These two fine musicians were found busking on the streets of Calcutta wearing no more than a tea-towel &a partyhat, when rock&roll legend Daniel O'Donnel brought them to Ireland 2make them famous, this is their story!

Band News
It's about time we posted a blog here just to let you know what's happened with the band recently. Unfortunately the Dardanelles have ceased to exist in its current form. It was decided that it would be best to disband and for each of us to take stock of what we want /if we want, musically in the future. A lot of time and effort goes into maintaining a band, to keep it going. And although it's a lot of fun, it can be quite tough mentally and physically, on top of everything else that goes on outside the band. I'm sure we'll all have something to do with music in the future to some extent but for the Dardanelles we feel it is time to call it a day. Thanks to everyone for your support, it is greatly appreciated. If there are any updates of any members musically we'll be sure to let you know here.

Freakscene/Downtown Photography Competition
Thanks to everyone who came to the Freakscene/Downtown Photography Competition. We had a great time playing and it was great to play in front of, more or less, a room full of people who had never heard us (thank you all for the kind comments).
Here's a one line review of the performance from this week's Downtown published in the Evening Echo on Thursday.
