Me, Myself, and I
Roadrunner are a no-nonsense 4 piece rock outfit from Dublin who "capture rock music with the essence of rhythm and blues with an indie edge".
They have recently released their first EP entitled "Try Keep Up". The EP included the song "Sparks" described as a "standout track" by Jackie Hayden of "Hotpress" in his review of a 35 track compilation CD Ourspace which reached number 5 in the Irish charts.
Roadrunner have gigged extensively around Dublin and have been praised for their tight and energetic performances. The lads believe in a straight forward, back to basics approach to their music. Their ballsy, rock n' roll sound has been received as a welcome change from the mass of hook-based electro pop rock. Roadrunner are currently in the process of writing and recording new material due for release this summer. www.myspace.com/roadrunnerband www.bebo.com/roadrunnerdublin

  • The JD Set

THE JD Set, Ireland’s leading unsigned band competition, touches down for two explosive heats at Trinity Rooms next month.
Performing in front of a panel of judges comprised of music industry representatives in Limerick on Thursday March 19 will be Aortal, Neon Stars and Nick Carswell and the Elective Orchestra. The following night, Friday March 20, it will be Camoige Lovers, VIC and Roadrunner vying for a place in the final at Crawdaddy, Dublin on Thursday April 23.
Legendary punk rocker Hugh Cornwell of The Stranglers will judge the final of The JD Set.
“I am delighted to hear the quality of the JD Set entries has been really high this year. Ireland has a really vibrant music scene and it does not surprise me that there are so many exciting bands coming through,” said Cornwell.
“It has always been very difficult for bands to make it in the music industry, which is why The JD Set is so worthwhile and gives bands a chance to play a live set in top live music venues and reach new audiences. I want to wish all the shortlisted bands the best of luck in the live heats and I am looking forward to judging the final,” he claimed.
Entry to all The JD Set gigs will be free. For more information log onto www.thejdset.ie.

Alrite all hope the bodies aren't too bad after last night! We'd just like to thank everyone who helped to put everything together for last night and especially everyone who came out to support us. We really appreciate it and fair play to uz you made it a fuckin wild one! Although next time lads could uz at least have clean boxers on if your gonna throw them on stage! Some impressive skidmarks there though it has to be said! Anyway thanks a million again everyone, hopefully we'll see uz all again soon for another stomper!

Roadrunner are a four piece rock band from Dublin, they capture rock music with the essence of rhythm and blues with an indie edge.

Dr Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde – This tune has some great melodic structures in the song with some indie rock feel and a Guns n Rose style going on. Upbeat and rocking, great stuff.

Sparks – This is a more easy listening tune, more indie than rock with a nice country feel. The vocals are excellent with some nice catchy lyrics, the mid changes are cool, they lift the tune up nicely with some great grooving bass and effects streaming from the guitar.

Thief in the alley – This tune has great Who type of an intro and keep its momentum through out the song. It kicks and bites with some great vocals and rock out beats.

Hey what's up?I'm the drummer from The Belafonts and I know this a bit off the wall but I was thinking about how it's kind of difficult finding gigs in decent venues(ie not Eamonn Dorans) and how it'd be handy to rent out a place for a night.I was wondering if you guys would be interested in splitting the cost of Radio City or something for a night and the two bands putting on a show. It'd be a laugh and we'd probably get a fairly long set each.I think the cost would be about 200 per band so it's not too bad.Anyway,if you think it's a good idea get back to me.In fact, write back to Singo or just The Belafonts bebo page cos I hate Bebo and never go on it.Later.

Hi! I saw you guys last night at the theatre fundraiser. You guys rule. I said it to you then, but I have to say it again now. You really are one of those bands where every member is a class musician. let me know when there's another gig in Dublin coming up.
